Joe Mama lets look at it this way. Why are Arab Christians who believe as you believe that Jesus is the son of God. Yet they say Allah. Its how you say God in their language just as a Spaniard would say Deous not God not Allah. Why is this such a difficult thing to understand?

I never said it is difficult. I just said that to the Western mind "Allah" is specific to the deity of the Islam. I should have been more specific and said to the English speaking Western mind.

It turns out that God did not permit for Isaac to be sacrificed.
Allah would let the sacrifice be concluded.
Need I remind you that the most cruel verses from Koran come from Torah? The difference is that Christians do not take them literally as muslims do. Christian God in the end sent Jesus to teach people love, compassion and forgiveness thus abrogating the harsh passages from the Torah. Allah on the other hand commanded Muhammad (pbuh) to abrogate the tolerant verses from Mecca and replace them with harsh intolerant verses from Medina.
I don't think that God is the same as Allah.

I prefer God and prefer Christianity.

And I prefer a does of common sense. If you believe in the Christian God or in Allah, it cannot possible escape notice that they are both the same God, the God of Abraham.
