Like I was saying to some SodaHeads just last week... GM is going to be selling shares soon.
As of Nov. 18 the U.S. Treasury will be the minority shareholder. Not perfect but better than before. Eventually they won't be a shareholder at all.
The government did what they had to do to prevent GM from collapsing and now they'll be getting their money back. America needs to keep building things to keep up with the rest world and that includes American cars.

+3Even if American cars suck... Americans still need to build and buy them. It's a vicious cycle. Personally I'm a Volkswagen girl. Never had a problem.reply

+2I lived in Italy for a year and rode in some of the most amazing cars. The Audi's there are nothing like the cars in America. Everyone has a high-end car there.... BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's.... they're like the Ford Taurus of Europe LOL. It's a shame America doesn't have the same experience.reply

+3They were the ones bitching and whining as I tried to explain that it's not like it's a permanent thing. I said that GM would be publicly traded soon and they laughed like the ignorant Fox ditto-heads that they are.reply
