But Jim Hansen at NASA couldn't leave it alone. So now 49 astronauts and other scientists have written in. Their message is plain: "KNOCK IT OFF!"
And those global warming alarmists are such hypocrites. And fools, too. Why hold a conference in Copenhagen, in that snowy weather? And why rent out every chauffeured limousine on the entire continent, and whisk in there with 1400 business jets? This from the sort of people who want to meter your WATER in your HOTEL to save energy!
If that were my conference, I'd book it in Tel Aviv, which is as close to an aviation centroid of the world as you can get. Then I would tell people to get to the nearest airport served by El Al, by train or bus or minivan, and then fly El Al, by special c...

And why rent out every chauffeured limousine on the entire continent, and whisk in there with 1400 business jets? If that were my conference, I'd book it in Tel Aviv, which is as close to an aviation centroid of the world as you can get. Then I would tell people to get to the nearest airport served by El Al, by train or bus or minivan, and then fly El Al, by special charter if we have to, instead of buzzing in with all those corporate jets. And once they'd landed, I'd have buses waiting for them to take them to their hotels. I've been there. It would be the perfect place. You could even ask the Israelis, who live with drought nine months out of every twelve, what it's like, and how they cope.
But NO-OOOO. You saw what they did instead. And even then, why didn't they lay on some special trains to take the conferees to downtown Copenhagen? And in a city that means "bicycles," why didn't they arrange bicycle tours of Copenhagen? The fact of the matter is that that conference had the biggest carbon footprint that they could possibly have had, in direct contradiction to their stated object.
But we know what their real object is: control. And that means "Do as we say, not as we do." The conference blew up after the Chinese didn't get a big enough bribe.

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.''

Texasred should be ashamed of himself for mentioning it.
ah got ya,
And by rich I mean beholden to money.
From the climategate email set:

Mick Kelly, of the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia, writes to Mike Hulme and Tim O’Riordan:
Had a very good meeting with Shell yesterday. Only a minor part of the agenda, but I expect they will accept an invitation to act as a strategic partner, and will contribute to a studentship fund, though under certain conditions.
And they accuse skeptics of “being in the pockets” of Big Oil?
I’m talking to Shell International’s climate change team, but this approach will do equally for the new Foundation, as it’s only one step or so off Shell’s equivalent of a board level. I do know a little about the Foundation and what kind of projects they are looking for. It could be relevant for the new building, incidentally, though opinions are mixed as to whether it’s within the remit.
Sounds lucrative. Buildings don’t come cheap.
Ahh, the old "they say" argument. Tired, worn out, and just plain silly on your part.
You showed that one university has some scholarships partly funded by one coal company. That's not the same thing as a person being given money specifically to say something. All universities are given charity, and there should not be a presumption of corruption when this continues- the kind of presumption that should be made of a wage to a private individual or thinktank.
Anyway, what are you accusing Shell of doing? Paying people to continue to act directly against Shell's interests? That's absurd. There's no basis for claiming that East Anglia is corrupt in Shell's favour.
"Professor Jones told the BBC yesterday there was truth in the observations of colleagues that he lacked organisational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is ‘not as good as it should be’.
The data is crucial to the famous ‘hockey stick graph’ used by climate change advocates to support the theory.
Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon."

They did this to themselves.
The only way for the scientific community to heal is for the denialists to stop lying, to stop threatening them and to allow them to work without intimidation. And, perhaps, for us to listen and act on their accurate findings.
Anthropogenic global warming and the genetic basis of homosexuality are like and the same, bad science turned into a scam.
