Global warming no longer Americans’ top environmental concern?

~ The Rebel ~ 2012/07/05 19:31:33
Climate change no longer ranks first on the list of what Americans see as the world’s biggest environmental problem, according to a new Washington Post-Stanford University poll.

Just 18 percent of those polled name it as their top environmental concern. That compares with 33 percent who said so in 2007, amid publicity about a major U.N. climate report and Al Gore’s Oscar-winning documentary about global warming. Today, 29 percent identify water and air pollution as the world’s most pressing environmental issue.

Largely because of the massive fraud that has been discovered, and the admissions of climate change proponents that they GROSSLY exagerated predictions in order to "force legislation and higher energy costs".

I think I might agree - although air pollution and tainted fresh water are all symptoms of the changing climate, which humans had a major hand in instigating.

Good because I sure am tired of all those people trying to say it's real.

I'm surprised that ANYONE listed it as their top concern.

Anyone who has lived in LA for a long period of time would have to admit that it is much cleaner today than in the 70's or 80's. This is in spite of the fact that it continues to grow. The technology to clean automobiles up keeps on getting better and better. Countries like China and India are where pollution is an increasing problem, not the U.S. or Europe.

Air pollution has been a problem since way back when but I think water pollution could become a bigger problem in the near future.

The problem is that while there is definite damage to the environment due to human activities, people have been playing politics with the theories for so long that people are becoming numbed to any real environmental issues. We should push for safe nuclear which will reduce pollution while increasing energy independence.

Of course there's also the issue that we're so busy with the show that the Republocrats have put on for us that we can't see any of the real issues at hand.
