I want to pick my own doctor and find one who gives a rat's fanny about how I feel and wants to make me feel good all the time! I don't want some poor socialist-run doctor who isn't permitted the time to spend one-on-one with me but has to shuttle the cattle through in record paces just to be able to keep their clinics open. And I don't want some damn committee jackasses trying to tell that doctor how he is going to approach my care. You want socialized medicine? Move.

A doctor in a private setting is more has the added incentive of excellence because his income is dependent on being better than the next doctor. Therefore, the quality of the entire system is trending upward!

Funny, I've been to Commie Countries and used their healthcare. It is cheap, but you don't get much. Extra long queues. You have to convert the situation to Capitalism to get good service. By that I mean, slip the Doctor and assistants a few bucks under the table. All of a sudden you get GREAT healthcare. Sometimes just a gift certificate to a nice restaurant gets the job done.

A socialist doctor is going to be a doctor who works not for the good of the patient, but to toe the party line. I don't want a doctor who is going to treat me just like everyone else. There's no point to that. Great question! Was going to make a better answer but it's late and I hate this iPad

I have been going to the same Doctor for 30 plus years.

I do not want or need a poorly trained SOCIAL MEDICINE doctor to treat me.

Let the OBAMA'S and the POLITICIANS go to the Socialist Doctors. Treat them for 5 years to develop a bench mark.

They want to FORCE this down our throats. LET THEM EXPERIENCE the health care BEFORE making us change.

Logic tells us if you are a doctor that is getting paid $15 for every patient you see then that doctors is not going to give quality care. We will have a shortage of doctors, you will be dead before you get in to see him.

A doctor is a doctor-I mean here in th US we don't have socialist doctors but we do have public hospitals nd the VA and they both provide excellent service.

In comparison to private care. I have visited both and talked with the recipients of care from these hospitals and they will tell that there is a marked difference. My son has a heart condition. While living in the Santa Clara Valley, CA, my wife was directed to take my son to the local public hospital for some blood work. I can't rememebr the reason why, but she found hersel in a long line waiting. She waited well over an hour and finally questioned what the delay was. Upon learning that my wife actually possessed private healthcare insurance, she was moved immediately to the front of the line. This is where socialized medicine will take us!

Wow, I didn't even know that SCVMC was a public hospital, it really has a good reputation!

As for VA services, i don't have to ask a vet because I am a vet and am very satisfied with the services I receive at the VA. Only once did I have to go on emergency because of an eye injury and I was treated with efficacy and as for my regular appointments I haven't had a problem there either.

it would depend on the reason for the chioce ,,,,cold ..a P.A would do ,,if terminal illness ,a specialist ,!!!!

if the country goes the direction currently on we'll all get the socialistic Dr.'s

and you wont have to be concerned if your over 70 & have a term illness ..the pannel will decide on your care ( likely comfort measures ) ..yeah I said panel ..or didnt all ya libers read the fine print & interpret under the panell considerations ...!

So what do you think will happen? They're going to say that one we can save but let's let them die anyway. The whole point of the "panels" will be to put the brakes on those doctors who today allow patients to linger hours and even days suffering, knowing that they are never going to recover just so that they can squeeze every last penny.

I hate no one and am open to all perspectives, I supported and voted for W in 2000 & 2004 and for McCain in 2008 ( I voted for McCain as a protest because I was a Hillary supporter) but after seeing president Obama in action I find him to be a fine upstanding man and an adequate president and I will definitely support him over Romney.
