Bettina Wulff, Germany's former first lady, is not a prostitute -- and she want you to know it. The wife of former German President Christian Wulff is suing Google over its autocomplete function while searching, which shows the words "prostitute" and "escort" after Wulff's name is typed out.

The former German first lady says she's never been a prostitute but that rumors circulated about her allegedly racy past around 2006, most likely to harm her husband's political career. Wulff may not be a prostitute, but do you think the lawsuit is fair? Or is Google being sued for all the wrong reasons?

NYDAILYNEWS.COM reports:
Germany’s former first lady is not happy with her Google results. Bettina Wulff, 38, is suing the search giant over their autocomplete function, which she argues perpetuates rumors that she was once a prostitute.

Google's autocomplete feature is base on popular searches. Deal with it. Google could probably filter this from their autocomplete, and likely will, so this lawsuit is pointless.

I think Bettina is pretty awesome for the "Eine Chance fur Kinder" foundation- even if her and her hubby are part of the CDU(well they got better)- but boo, do you not know how Google works? It's not Google's fault, just maybe ask to moderate it or remove it or whatever Google can do if they decide to fix it.

What a wuss! If the worst I was called was a prostitute, I'd be flattered. In any case, the autocomplete suggestions are based on statistics. Nothing personal. Grow up and woman up, lady.

Sorry, Betty, but that's how search works and what makes it useful. Terms that are associated with one another _for_any_reason_ will be associated in a search.

It's more of a search for the rumors rather than a search for her as a prostitute.

So... what you're saying is: if someone disagrees with the Israeli government's actions, they are automatically anti-Semitic?
    Really?
As I've mentioned on this forum, I'll be sure to tell my Israeli friends who protest their government all the time. They don't agree with most of the actions their nation's leaders take, both within & outside Israel. What makes them anti-Semitic? They're Israelis!
Obama is not okay for America.
    Neither is Romney.
One's policies regarding our civil liberties is clearly at stake & the other is likely to be the same, plus is a total buffoon when it comes to anything outside our nation. We have three people on the ticket. Only one has the best interests of our nation at heart.

The United States Constitution, especially its Bill of Rights, protects civil liberties. The passage of the Fourteenth Amendment further protected civil liberties by introducing the Privileges or Immunities Clause, Due Process Clause, and Equal Protection Clause.

What, exactly, do you know about Ron Paul that causes you to call him a "kook"?
  • ☆Hitler... Grammar... 2012/09/18 13:53:19
    ☆Hitler was a community organiz☆
the term "civil liberties" is an attempt to redefine our constitutional rights, constitutional rights are very well defined...civil liberties are not so much.
for example I have a "right" to keep and bear arms...I do not have a right to own and operate a motor vehicle...that is a privilege, and can be taken away.
now to lump privileges in with constitutional rights, and call the whole thing "civil liberties" reduces a "right" down to a "privilege"...and people who are constantly whining about their "civil liberties" makes the people that are trying to defend constitutional rights look like a kooks...Ron Paul is a kook

Civil liberties are civil rights and freedoms that provide an individual specific rights. The United States Constitution, especially its Bill of Rights, protects civil liberties. The passage of the Fourteenth Amendment further protected civil liberties by introducing the Privileges or Immunities Clause, Due Process Clause, and Equal Protection Clause. Human rights within the United States are often called civil rights, which are those rights, privileges and immunities held by all people, in distinction to political rights, which are the rights that inhere to those who are entitled to participate in elections, as candidates or voters.[1] Before universal suffrage, this distinction was important, since many people were ineligible to vote but still were considered to have the fundamental freedoms derived from the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This distinction is less important now that Americans enjoy near universal suffrage, and civil liberties are now taken to include the political rights to vote and participate in elections.

The privilege of driving a car is not protected. The fact that one is not denied the privilege due to race, creed, color, gender, sexual orientation, favorite color, etc., is protected by The Constitution & its Amendments.

They are two different things. Do not get them confused. What Ron Paul works to uphold & defend is The Constitution & its Amendments. He's a hell of a smart cookie. It seems to me that you have never actually heard him speak. You should... because it is those constiutional protections that are being usurped by the very individuals the two "parties" tell us to elect.
    Hrmmmm... why is that?
Why is it that the GOP is so afraid of him?

see, you are so stoned that you didnt even notice that I was explaining to you the differences between a privilege and a right...so that YOU dont get them confused, which you evidently have.
