It took prosecutors a month and a half to charge George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, but Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey announced the charge on Wednesday, just days after dismissing the grand jury. He's being charged with second-degree murder, and could face life in prison. This doesn't mean he's guilty, but it does mean he's in prison for the time being.
Zimmerman arrived at the Polk Correctional Facility in Florida Wednesday night after the 28-year-old surrendered to law enforcement. Lawyers on both sides of the case anticipate a long and arduous trial. Zimmerman's new lawyers says he is "not concerned about [Zimmerman's] mental well-being" and expects "justice in the end." Martin's mother just wants to "ask him if there were another way that he could have settled the confrontation." Do you think the charges against George Zimmerman sound fair -- or foul?

Foul+66Prosecutor will have to get all twelve jurors to vote to convict to get this silly murder charge upheld. She knows that is hopeless. The charge carries some lesser homicide charges as "included lesser charges" (like manslaughter) which they can compromise on. The hope would be that by asking for murder 2, they can get Zimmerman to agree to accept something like negligent homicide. If he does, he is being gullible, for they can never get twelve Floridians to agree he is culpable. Even if they get an all black jury, getting twelve of us to agree he did not have the right to defend himself just because his attacker is black would be very unlikely. Too many of us have had family or friends who have been attacked by young men like Trayvon. Having worked with victims of abuse for many years, my sympathy for the victim of the attack (Zimmerman) far outweighs my identification as a Florida black.

Odd, in Canada it is a similar culture, many shared dreams, hopes, yet the murder rate in the United WITH ALL THE DAMN GUNS is about a 100 times higher. Obviously you don't have to have a ton of brinks fall on you to realize all those guns cause crime, they don't do a damn thing to prevent it regardless how much huffing, puffing and like line a-holes the NRA and other gun nuts always do.
So we will see what really come out of this mess.
The left wing media has been caught with their hands in the racism cookie jar at a time when Americans are tired of the "race card" being played for everything. It may have worked 20 years ago with O.J., but it ain't going to work this time. In fact the race card is being abused more than government entitlements! :) It's over. There is plenty of blame going around from black leaders and black racist hate mongers, yet no accountability for how this could have happened. Liberals are purely and simply retarded when it comes to assumptions and facts. This case proves it. It screams it!
The bottom line and at the end of the day a 17 year old boy is dead and the family deserves an answer to what happened. They ARE entitled to that information, just as any one of us would be. Whether Zimmerman is justified for killing the teenager or not, justice needs to and will prevail. Even if that means acquitting Zimmerman on all charges.
You're right that his family deserves to know what happened. I hope the outcome will bring some closure for them so they can go on with their lives and Trayvon can RIP.
You must be referring to the non-liberal news outlets who have been reporting FACTS about Martin. You know the opposite of libelous. Martin's problems in school, the theft, his suspension, the negativity with twitter accounts (the screen names and his posts) etc... you know all that stuff that completely contradicts the angelic portrait the liberal media outlets have painted of this 'poor little innocent teenager', who was just getting a bag of skittles. The courts will decide the outcome of this case not racist, left wing liberals.
I think you are confusing facts with biased opinions. You must be a liberal.
Shouldn't have been suspended for pot.
Shouldn't have told his freind to meet him up the road on his twitter account. Or they would have a much tougher case against Zimmerman.
This whole case is a sick racist scam, about a guy who isn't even the same race as what they hyped him up to be (to get the edgy racists on the edge of their seats).
Tracy Martin got hooked up with attorney, Benjamin Crump down in Miami and he's the one who called Sharpton and the circus was ON.
suspended for pot??? wow! what a criminal. what should have happened to good ole Zim when he assaulted a police officer, slapped around his girlfriend who put a restraining order on him ? and was charged with harassment in some bar incident until Daddy got the charges squashed. And get off your Twitter evidence, it's as ludicrous as the rest of your statements. A "racist scam",idiotically false except for the racist word. you and Zimmerman fit that role to a tee
Saying that Zimmerman followed the kid any further, is a straight up lie and purely speculation.
Zimmerman will get falsely sentenced for a PR stunt someone is pulling.
If you have a response and it is not consistent with what I stated and the video I used for reference, your response will be ignored.
