George Bush's farewell speech: Will Bush apologize for his mistakes?

SodaHead Politics 2009/01/15 19:31:17
No, George Bush will be trying to talk about the positives of his Presidency.
Yes, George Bush will apologize now that he won't serve another term.
George Bush will talk about America's future instead of dwelling on the past.
I think that George Bush's farewell speech...
You!
Add Photos & Videos
George Bush will make his last major appearance as President of the United States when he gives his farewell speech. Despite being elected for two terms, George Bush was not a popular President. Bush is proud of cutting taxes, but isn't eager to take the credit for the biggest federal deficit in U.S. history. Americans will also remember George Bush for the U.S. invasion of Iraq and the woefully inadequate federal response to Hurricane Katrina.

George Bush's farewell speech will wrap up his Presidential career and serve as the last impression for historians. Will George Bush acknowledge his mistakes and apologize to the American people or will he continue to project oblivious self-confidence?

was fantastic. This man was always honorable and truthful. No, things did not always go as planned but never was there a man that worked so hard so protect his people. You could believe his words during these entire 8 years, whether you agreed with him or not. This did not happen 8 years prior to his presidency and there is not a chance of you hearing or seeing it in the next 4 to 8 years. Promises and ideals have already been broken.
Thank you George Bush..you made me proud to be an American.
I travel to many countries and you may be surprised how many people admired our President, especially those that he was able to give some hope to, a chance for freedom or relief from aids in Africa. A chance to be freed of dictatorships. Man was born to be free. He is at his best free. He MUST be free.
Sadly, with the media throughout much of the world controlled by the far left, people will remain ignorant of exactly how great he is. Not perfect..but a great human being. War is a scurge on man, but till all opression has been dimished..people are free and have hope..there will be war. Opression breeds hopelessness which breeds aggression which breeds hate.
Wake up..this is reality. Let us hope that Obama can fill even one of his shoes.
    I hope so.

He has no need to apologize for any thing he has done. Nobody is perfect.
He may feel the need to apologize for some stuff that needed to be done that he didn't do because of pressure from liberal whiners and the U.N. (an outfit we need to withdraw from.) Speaking of which I'll be greatly surprised if they don't get a lot of us killed in the next four years.

Was wonderful. He has kept us safe, and was honorable. His speech was about America and the troops that fight everyday to keep us out of harms way. Unlike Obama, who has broken every promise so far, and can't get anything right w/out a prompter infront of him. We did very well under Bush. I can't complain.

I must have been sleep or in a trance because honorable he is not. Ask the American soliders retuning from Iraq. It is so bad they have formed an organization just to receive help when they return. You war mongers are crazy. You let your boys die for oil or whatever the republicans say. You don't question nothing damn.

Why should he apologize? Did Clinton apologize for setting us up for 9/11, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and all the other stuff he pulled? Bush is being blamed for this stuff that the Democrats set into motion before Bush took office. Ask any service man who was serving our country during Clinton's 8 years and he will tell you how the military were cut to bare bones budgets, which Obama is doing right now. His first work against the military is to eliminate the benefits of our retiring forces. The men and women who have fought to protect us and devoted their lives to our country are now being denied their retirement benefits as of this past week. Nice work. Is Obama going to apologize for crossing up our defenders and yanking the rug out from under them?

Plus Michelle Obama has worked tiredlessly with the families of our soliders. Now please get your hateful shit straight. You are just like that lying Bush. I am sick of you simple ass repubicans. socialist? You sound like you support Bush. You think you can support bush and America at the same time? If you do you are dead wrong. America was founded on Freedom not safety. The Patriot Act has taken the majority of freedoms we had left, away. Bush past that. If you support any leader that takes your freedom away you are a fool and not a patriot of America... Land of the Free, not land of the Safe. Our founding fathers would cry if they saw all of you cloned obedient fools and your "our leader is great" mentality.

was crap - this man was always dishonorable, despicable, a liar, and a tyrant. He listened to nobody but his Vice President "the snake" and will forever be remembered as the corrupt, evil and botched up Presidency this country ever had. Sadly, with the one dimensional people fed on us being savior to the world, with the "King of Hill" mentality, born again, seeing that the entire world has to be a democracy, and this is only a Christian country that advocates war, will never see that. Many countries in the world now hate us, but most I feel don't hate us they hate the dummy dictator we illegally elected twice. Goodbye, Dubya. At no point in my life did you make me feel less proud and more humiliated of being an American citizen. President Obama will be lucky if he can fit one of your shoes? He could fill 15 of them, but let's hope he fills none of them because, after all, you are the village idiot of Crawford. Go back to that shack, hug your money, and shut up.

Our latest bombing in Pakistan last week (under Obama's orders) killed 16 civilians - including women and children. Bush should apologize for his mistakes right after Obama and libs apologize to Bush for accusing him of wantonly, irresponsibly and unfeelingly killing women and children in this war against terror.

Hmm? What do you think America is about bckish? I was under the impression that it was freedom. And George W. Bush and almost every president before him have been trying to subvert that freedom and manipulate the American people. We should apologize to him for having failed to uphold our personal freedom? Unfortunately America is so blind most of us buy this safety crap, or don't even know it's our right to be free. We are not Free! We are being taxed without representation and our laws are not those of free people only quasi free. The sad part is we unlike our Great forefathers don't even care. The men who drafted...

matched the Hubris of his entire presidency! George W. Bush will go down in history as the president who couldn't see the forest for the trees when it came to policy. Don't tell me this man has kept us safe ok 9/11 happened on his watch, he didn't capture or kill Bin Ladin, Al Queda announced they would wait a generation b4 executing another attack on U.S. soil, he plungged our country into one of the worst forgien policy disaters called Iraq while taking our focus off the region of Afgan and Pakistan where the Taliban has re-established a stronghold, authorized torture, corrupted the justice department with partisan appointments, dropped the ball with Katrina and handling FEMA, authorized illegal wire-tapping on American journalist and ordinary Americans, and made the housing market worse by removing regulations ect. ect. ect. Now, any person who actually thinks that the Bush presidency has been good for this country shares not only the Bush administrations Hubris, but a fundamental lack in intellectual honesty. Have there been positive points in his presidency? I'm sure there has been, but they do not compare to the rest of it, and now our country has to repair it's values and ideals and to do that we have to wipe 43's legacy from staining the future.

No no I'm sorry I completly disagree, but I understand it's a tough job being a Bush apologist. First of all Clinton did try to capture Bin Laden, did he drop the ball? Yes he did Clinton could have done more of course, but remember when he sent those missles over to bomb those al Quida training camps, then republicans jumped up and complained that he was trying to change the subject off of Monica. Plus, Bush recieved a national security brief that detailed Osama Bin Ladin plans to attack U.S. with planes!!! Bush had been in office nearly a full year b4 we got hit, why on earth did he not stress tighter securities at all major airports? How on earth did those terrorist get checked when there ID's had been on the FBI terrorist watchlist?

WTF WAS HE GONNA DO?????? he did the best he could, how much can you do to prevent terrorism?? it happens..we've been safe since 9/11.....and y is it his fault that bin ladin and all them havn't ben captured? our men and women in the war have done there best to search, and capture the ppl causeing this war. they have found major leaders and captured them...................instead of saying the "bad" things that happed ( but rn't even his fault)y dont u look at the good things he did because ther r a lot of things
