I'm not a big fan of GM. I hate Chevy, and can't stand Cadillacs, but their turnaround has been nothing short of Miraculous, given how close they were to going under just 3 years ago.

After Obama Approved a capitalist loan to bail out the troubled American Auto Manufacturer, GM is not only repaying the loan with interest, but kicking ass as a corporation again, getting honored by making the 5 spot on the Forbes 500.

Thank you Obama, or just jobs we should have let go?

I say good job, either way, if it economy tanked Obama would been blamed for that....Just like now he is being blamed for everything under the sun.....

Other than Obama's base, they (the Independents) all voted for him and now they are crying in their beer...Why did they vote for him???...

Ya know, I can't see another Reichtie in the Whitehouse after all they are the ones who created the mess to begin with.....

What about the airlines who declared bankruptcy and have since emerged as leaner more competitive organizations?
Don't be stupid, it was the UAW and their lobbyists who threatened to withhold contributions to the Dems if they didn't step in and protect their bloated payrolls. God forbid that the auto industry declared bankruptcy and then renegotiated their union contracts.

We must always support American jobs and industries as lonmg as they run and work honestly. It is un American to ship jobs to other countries to increase profits and to have let the auto industry crumble would have been criminal. They were given the chance they needed and they actually made good on it. Too bad the banks just took the money and ran with it, we should have let them go under instead. Most of them run outside the USA anyways.

Here's the thing - Obama bailed them out AND THEY STILL WENT BANKRUPT!
You guys seem to be forgetting that pesky little fact.

It wasn't Obama giving them our money that saved them, it was the bankruptcy, just like Mitt said it would save them.

I'm in love with your views on GM, for one thing. I never liked GM. Well, except for the older Cadillacs. I loves me some boats! XD Anyways, I feel that people shouldn't lose their jobs just because they happen to work at an unfavorable company. And I'm not siding with Obama here, I'm really just siding against Santorum, because he would have killed off ALL of the car companies, including Chrysler, where I'm planning on starting my career.

GM got into trouble due to incompetent management, who allowed their labor costs to soar to twice the hourly cost of Honda's....given this, the company should have been allowed to go bankrupt, reorganized, and saved the American taxpayer billions of dollars, which we will never see again.

That is not the point, I would have no right to ask the government; run by the people to loan me money on a private venture. When I make a profit do you think I am going to give part of that profit to the government out of the goodness of my heart! Hell no. The bailout was premised on a viable plan, saving 25K jobs including those related to it and thaat benefitting by it and the irreplacable pensions people invested in. Now that's a president! Go home Mitt Dumpme!

Not a good choice of answers. GM would not have gone broke, just reorganized and they wouldn't be stuck with that car that no one wants. It's obvious why they came in 5th on Forbes 500; they have plenty of money...from the taxpayer. It wasn't a capitalist loan, it was crony capitalism. That loan will probably NEVER be paid back.

Government bailouts are nothing new, Chrysler did it in the 1980's under Lee Iacoca, and he repaid them in record time. What you don't hear is that GM and Chrysler have paid back the money loaned or was that given by Obigot.
