While I am opposed to all approval of homosexuality, I am less against "gay marriage" than I am to teaching kids that homosexuality is normal and acceptable. This lying to our children must stop.

The fact that you can understand the opposition from a different point of view does you credit. I myself grew up in a religiously Roman Catholic environment, and in some ways I understand that when you grow up being told that being gay is wrong, it may be pretty hard to break out of that mind set. And yet despite that understanding the stance they take on it STILL manages to piss me off.

But if there's one thing that gives me hope is that as we grew older being lesbian or bisexual (I used to be in an all girls Catholic school) became less and less of an issue. And once we reached highschool most of the girls who weren't straight had already come out of the closet to their classmates. Sure they wouldn't dare tell any of the teachers (because that's just asking for trouble, its against the rules to be in a same sex relationship) but there rest of us knew and were perfectly fine with it. And all this despite being constantly told that it was wrong and that it was a perversion. So that acceptance gives me hope that maybe in a generation or two things will change, and I as a straight ally, hope to see that change happen

It is time for responsible citizens to unite against the destruction of traditional values in America. Defend the sanctity of marriage and the family.

Hmm. 71% of everyone favors gay marriage, 100% Atheists do, 40% of Christians do and 0% of Muslims do. Makes me very glad to be a Muslim and know right from wrong.

Thusfar and despite the venomous religionists, I have seen no valid reason to deny equal rights to the gay community.

To be honest I don't really care who anybody marries as long as that person is:
    1. Human
    2. NOT under the legal age of consent
    3. NOT a direct blood relative
    4. Alive

Actually I think there should be some exceptions for number 1. I honestly believe that some people should be married to this:
    straight jacket

It should not even be a matter of majority opinion - since when does a majority have the right to deny equality to a minority?

If it were truly up to me, I would abolish federal acknowledgement of any marriage and implement universal civil unions. Straight people get civil unions, gay people get civil unions. And these "unions" would serve only as a stamp to certain perks marriage normally gives. Actual marriage can be handled by 3rd party whatever.

The federal Government really should not be involved in the business of marriage. That's not their role.

I really have never seen a proper arguement against marriage equality that doesnt involve religion.

Please remember that democracy is not the same as a theocracy.

WHAT IS THE LAW OF THE LAND.
DOMA. This was passed by Congress, AND the Senate, and signed into existence by the President.
Obozo does NOT have the authority, other than OUR fear, to NOT enforce the LAW of the LAND.
    This is OUTRAGIOUS -
obama is NOT eligible to EVEN hold the office of the presidency.
The administration's job is 'to enforce the LAW OF THE LAND'
IF he wanted to change the laws, he should have stayed in the Senate.
...and EVEN when he was a Senator, HOW MANY TIMES did he vote 'present'?
    WHAT A Pathetic CRIMINAL!!!!
    TRIE him for Treason!!!!
