I don't blame Obama for the high gas prices but if a Republican was president you can bet almost every news outlet and entertainment source would be blaming the POTUS.

not directly, but higher gas prices will hurt the economy, which will hurt obama's campaign in the long run. I'm sure the teabagger crowd will try to blame obama, but of course it's not because he's black, it's his policies, lol.

Party doesn't matter here, Obama shown from the beginning that he has no intention of doing what is necessary to get oil/gas prices down. Between restrictions on drilling to denying the Keystone pipeline he has only contributed to America's economic woes instead of trying to help.

Obama's policy of destroying the coal industry and stopping oil exploration on Federal lands have caused this. Gas costs $1.84 per gallon when Obama was elected. the Dem.s Brag about less being imported, but they don't say its because most people can't afford to go anywhere.If 18,000,000 unemployed Americans Could afford to fill their fuel tanks each week Gas even more would be brought onshore bought from our enemy's,Drill U.S.A. Vote Republican.

Wow, I'm 40 and I don't remember it being that low since before 9-11. Where do you live that gas was only 1.84/ gallon three and a half years ago? I need to move there. And I seem to remember it hitting almost 5 during Bush's administration. But I can't blame him for what the private sector does, can I?

Central Fl. I t was a high of almost $4.00 a gal. but under threats of Federal investigation for price gouging it came back down to $1.84 and that was at the B. P. station one of the knock off stations was $1.81 for Reg. We must be closer to the Refinery, or not paying as much taxes, not sure which

That makes sense since many refineries are closer to you. It had dropped to around 2.25 aound that time here. However, no offense to Floridians, but I'm not moving to that sand bar for cheaper gas. I'll visit, I love the pan handle especially, but not move.

If anyone thinks not they should try hard to remember this man, Obama , told America we should be paying around ten USD to the Saudis for each gallon of gasoline. And judging by the pricing going UP UP UP on gas, they believe it too.

The discussions I have with many is that policies matter and the President has slippery slopped us to this point in history.

People understand how we got here, whether dems, republicans, independents, agnostics, christians, heterosexuals, gays, etc.

The cost of gas is a visual of how grocery store fundamentals are up in price, etc.

I also note the current political rulers in DC have squashed American jobs by not funding new drilling and refineries with our "bailout" money we need in the USA but have seen fit to hand out our tax dollars to foreign nations so THEY can have jobs and energy supplies.
