Gaping hole in the GOP's logic, regarding voter ID laws?

In Texas, the voter ID law does not apply to people voting with a mail-in ballot. Strangely enough, the majority of fraudulent ballots cast are mail-in/absentee ballots. This would mean if there are people casting fraudulent votes, whether they be illegal immigrants, or they are just people who want more than one vote, then all you have to do is steal a person over 65's Social Security number, and cast a mail-in ballot in their name. Now, tell me this, why would the GOP be so adamant about passing strict voter ID laws that don't cover mail-in ballots, hmmm? Could it be that the majority of people voting in absentia are military personnel overseas, old white men, and the 1%, or people who tend to vote Republican? Nothing suspect about this at all...

+3The answer is simple. All they want is to do whatever means they can to steal the election for the GOP and be as surreptitious as possible about it.
As for the theory that Republicans are the ones taking advantage of absentee ballot fraud...if that's the case, why are the Democrats the ones who are always getting caught?

It is very likely a judge will throw this law out, because as usual, the Republicans did no homework. If you are going to require voters to show picture ID, you must afford a means for them to do so. Texas has 254 counties, ...1 in 3 counties has no DPS . To get a DL photo, many voters would have to travel over an hour ... if they had transportation. Mass transportation does not service the DPS stations. They would also have to miss a day's work.
Well, what about other photo IDs? It is also not clear which photo IDs would be acceptable. Texas has numerus universities, but college IDs won't be accepted ( most of them voted for Obama). Hand gun permit is okay ( hunters vote Republican) Passport okay. Work related photo ID ? ...not clear. If your name is Pedro Garcia and you work at a warehouse that provides ID, that will not work. But if your name is Tiffany Morgan and you have an ID showing you are a part of the Harris County court system, that will be okay.
This is blatant voter suppression and Republicans even screwed that up.
