I don't know what the rebels were thinking but I don't think I can judge them. I can't imagine what life must have been like living under Qaddafi's government. Libya is not a democracy. I think they just spared him from going through a trial and executing him.

I have been reading different versions of the story of his demise all day. Maybe someday there will be some agreement on what really happened and who really gets the blame/credit for the assassination. This murder-by-drone policy is very troubling.

I don't think anyone claims a drone killed Gaddafi. A drone hit the line of 15 cars. Gaddafi was in one of the cars that was hit but he crawled out and tried hiding in a culvert. He was shot in the head when they took him to Misrata.
