of all $500 billion-plus in tax hikes (over the next ten years) in

A new 3.8% Medicare tax for 2013 is applied only to "net" capital gains in addition to any regular capital gains tax ONLY on home sales already subject to capital gains tax according to IRS, and ONLY for those taxpayers earning over $200K single/$250K married annually.
And if it happens to be your primary residence, single taxpayers are allowed $250K profit before being taxed on ONLY the profit above that excluded threshold. The allowed profit is $500K for those filing jointly before having to pay capital gains tax on any profit over that.
And health insurance has nothing to do with capital gains.

So much for the idiots that crafted the bill and those that voted for it. Pelosi was right. You had to wait until they passed it so you could see how bad you were getting screwed.
