There are some people on the Howard Stern Show that have done some great pranks to telemarketers. They are really hilarious.

The problem is that the do not call list is a list that is published for those telemarketers to not call. The REAL issue is that they don't care, or will give the list to someone off shore that can't be prosecuted for violating the do not call registry.

They quit calling the house phone, but keep calling the cell phone where it knocks off my minutes.

My mom went on the list about two years ago. The calls stopped for about a month and the calls started to come though again. It doesn't work.

I can't even answer my landline anymore. Anyone worth talking to calls my cell leaving only telemarketers & politicians calling the landline. Time to take it out I think.

I am still getting unwanted calls although all my phones are on the "Do not call" list (including my cell phone). However, the most irritating calls are the "pre-recorded" calls for: political campaigns, non-profit organizations seeking donations, and the one that makes me crazy - the pre-recorded call allegedly from your credit card company wanting to lower the interest rate on your credit cards. The last one, if you listen to the whole message, will give you the options to opt out of any future calls but it doesn't work. They still keep calling back time and time again. Unfortunately, I've reduce my phone features to plain basic so without caller ID, I can't report them or call them back let alone block them.

My mother has this problem, but she gives her number to everyone that wants it. I have never had a telemarketer call me. I also am on the do not call list. I think it is effective, but when you volunteer your number, that's a different story.

Yes, even though I am on the "do-not-call-list". they are all automated calls with a recorded message with someone reading the exact same script. They start out with I know how much you hate these stupid automated calls please do not hang up and I will tell you how to make a fortune annoying other people the same way that I am annoying you.

Well I did change the words slightly for effect, however these calls come from all over the country so when I get them I just immediately add that number to my Contact List under SPAMers which my phone is set to not ring for works great and no matter how many times they call my phone never rings and I never get billed for those calls or annoyed by them more than once per incoming phone number.

When Obama is running I get hundreds of Text Messages from his campaign which I have to pay for, if I read them, since I do not subscribe to texting. I just delete them as soon as they come in. I am extremely annoyed at any Politician who has the unmitigated gall to send unsolicited texts to anyone.

Good point, however; easier said than done. So far I have never heard a solution that will actually work. So far the only one contributing to my Campaign has been me.

I constantly receive unwanted calls from telemarketers ... I look at caller id because I recognize those calls as being telemarketeers ... I simply pick up the phone and then hang it up during the first ring. Yes, we are on the list ... they call both our lines simultaeously. It's annoying.
