Fred Thompson Against Obama Policy: Are you?

Coffee-Aholic March 25, 2009 21:43:27

Fred Thompson is in agreement with Bobby Jindal that it is ok to want Obama's policies to fail. Thompson, like many other Republicans, are very unhappy with President Obama and his choices in policy. If Obama's policies fail, many Republicans will get a feeling of justification, however if he doesn't fail, the country will probably be better off. Like Thompson, many republicans feel that Obama's policies are taking the country in a very wrong direction.

What do you think about Obama's policies? Do you want them to fail?
I want Obama's policies to FAIL. Just like Thompson and Jindal.
I hope Obama's policies are successful. Thompson is just crazy.
When it comes to Obama's policies, I want...
You!

All of his policies need to fail. If not our country will fail and big time. It will take forever to get out of the hole he is putting us in.

You're obviously one of those people who believe in diversity and tolerance, just as long as we all think EXACTLY like you.
If we don't, we should be censored, banned, & pemanently silenced; while you sit in judgement and condescend.

My point was what entitles Fred Thomspon to a public forum? He couldn't even stay interested and focused to campaign for the office, but he can criticize the President?

You are completely correct the only thing it is easier to get him then to kick him out look what everyone tried to Bush and it just didn't happen because they had all the money to get in and we don't have the money or the backing and that is the way it is.

When it comes to Obama's policies, I want...

I am sure that when humans lived in tribes and troops the Headman was beset by all kinds of "rugged individualists" who could never stomach the notion that their Government- him- was responsible for his people-their health, protection, welfare and shelter-the very survival of the unit and that close cooperation was derided as "socialism" because it was just too hard to see that life required sharing and responsibility in measures beyond what any individual might have ability to do alone.

Wanting Obama's policies to "fail" is purely a political gambit. Why anyone would put politics over cooperation in a parlous time is called "selfishness"-at best obstructionist. It is a clear measure of the destruction of the civilized manners our political system inherited from our forefathers. This way of blaming and coarse ego-involvement was called "sectarianism, cliques, factionalism". Disagreement can lead to better ideas when men have clear goals standing on common ground. When did America lose those? When "our goals" became "their goals" and "my goals"-or policies, and "We" looked out on "enemies of America" and not other Americans with whom we disagreed.

    Bottom line:
You cannot spend your way out of a recession nor can you buy your way out of debt by borrowing as Obama / Dem Congress are proposing. It's nonsense and impossible!

You got that right but I think they all seem to have that problem once they get so high on the food chain. They will do anything to get what they want no matter what it might be and that is the way it seems to be in our society as a whole.

When it comes to Obama's policies, I want...

Isn't this typical of Washington. Both parties would sell each other out just to prove a point all while the citizens are suffering. Instead of getting along to solve a problem our elected officials fight and scrap like children. Every single one of them should be voted out and replaced by a new breed of government officials who will work together for solutions to our problems.

I agree, let's vote da bums out!

But to be able to do THAT, we need to have PAPER BALLOTS, with RECEIPTS to make sure our vote is being counted. I haven't voted for about six years due to just this issue (never will bother again till this is fixed) and I have intimated my concerns in this regard face-to-face with my local Congressman. I 'spect he's probably taking care of that even as I write...

Ok. Let's start www.ballotwatch.com (I apologise to Ballot Watch if that is already a real organization). Anyway, it will be a grass roots organization that will independently track poll results during ALL elections, and the board of trustees will make CHALLENGES to races where figures significantly differ from ours and will follow through to contest via the courts and publick outcry.

...you know what? On SECOND THOUGHT, it just hit me that if there IS a group smart enough to have pulled the wool over our eyes for decades with rigged elections, sham polling stations and media collaboration... THEY ARE OUR MASTERS and there's no fighting against them.

We should have been tipped off that this was the case by the media's use not of words like "electors" or "voting stations", but phrases like "America goes to the POLLS" and calling our buildings "POLLING stations"... and that's what Election Day really is... just the powers-that-be taking a poll of what Americans think and how much therefore they can get away with without revolt.

Election Day in CHINA is even funner! And not because it's a communist government and the incumbant always wins with "100% of the vote!" It's the most exciting day of the year... they call it "Erection Day" over there you know...

When it comes to Obama's policies, I want...

They scare the crap out of me.

Seems every what ? Decade and a half - Dems have total control of government - they overreach and are smacked down. Time and time again.

This time it's really scary. I do not think we will be better off if the policies work. There may be short term gains but the rights being taken away from Americans are important and are providing precedence that is going to be hard to overcome.

Which rights being taken away? Specifically?

Do you mean the First Amendment rights taken by "free speech zones" during the last administration?

Or maybe Fourth Amendment rights taken by a TRULY overreaching government that said it could do anything anywhere anytime to anyone for any reason, so long as they mentioned "terra"?

Fifth Amendment rights trampled by "eminent domain" rulings in which citizens are NEVER "justly compensated"?

Sixth? Permanently delayed trials and secret witnesses?

    Cruel and unusual punishment?

Seems you should already be outraged over the rights lost over the last eight years, rather than sharing in the Obamanoia.

Right. Whatever you say. Doing "Anything to anyone" - that's overreaction and basically a cop out. How would you do it? Unless you have a viable alternative - you don't have an opinion that is worth a tinker's damn.

Justly compensated? What are you talking about? Eminent Domain - since when is that a Bush thing exclusively? Citizens being compensated for WHAT?

Permanently delayed trials and secret witnesses? What? They aren't even classifiable to law. How would you suggest they be detained? Someone that is a national security risk with no classification? Again, please tell us - what would you do to ensure safety of Americans and allies?

I'm far more concerned with precedence - in first and second amendments and flagrant tax violations.

Homeland security - yes - I feel there are rights being trampled. But weigh the good with the bad in a time of crisis come up with something better - please.

It isn't the current (new) plan that's for certain.

First Amendment: Pelosi & Co. aim to re-instate The Fairness Doctrine
: So called "Wall of Separation" between Church and State

Second Amendment: 20,000+ Liberal Gun Control Laws that do nothing but make honest Americans victims.

Third Amendment: No soldiers being forced into peoples homes...yet.

Fourth Amendment: No-knock warrants being issued by Judges trying to get guns from legal owners.

Fifth Amendment: Eminent Domain found Unconstitutional by Justice Stevens and supported by Souter, Ginsberg, Breyer, and Kennedy.

Sixth Amendment: Recent attempt by Sen. Lautenberg(D-NJ) to allow removal of legally owned guns using hearsay, and denying accused the ability to face their accuser and defend their right.

    Seventh Amendment: Trail Lawyers

Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Amendments: Frequently Abused by Lawywrs, Judges, and Politicians on both sides of the aisle.

I am not going to defend either Party, but in my lifetime, Liberal-Socialist-Progressive Democrats have done more to trample the US Constitution.
