Could Ron Paul have gotten 72% of the vote instead of 12%? Anne
Beckett, election judge for Austin (Travis County), says it is so.

In fact, she did an entrance poll of Republican voters for their
party preference and says that a minimum of 66% offered on their own
that they came to vote for Ron Paul. As she polled them she wrote a line
on her hand, then, counted the total voters. A minimum of 66% and as
high as 72% of all the votes went for Paul, NOT Romney (she wishes to be
conservative, but says that at the bare minimum 66%, not 12%, of the
votes went to Paul).

For credibility it is important to note that she took a complete poll
and was there from 6:00 a.m. until closing (12 hours). The precinct she
judged was 247-R.

Here are the 'acclaimed' numbers from the election board:

http://www.co.travis.tx.us/county_clerk/election/20120529/fi...

Scroll down to pg. 456 (not 301, as noted earlier). The results she is disputing are as follows:

Mitt Romney: 72

Ron Paul: 15

Early voting (absentee ballots)

Mitt Romney: 41

Ron Paul: 4

Don’t feel depressed. Apparently, the real numbers in the live voting are 72 or more for Paul and 15 or less for Romney.

Ms. Beckett states categorically that these numbers are false. In her words, it’s “completely false.”

The judge has filed an affidavit with ElectionFraudRemedy.com.

Tune in to this epic show. Dr. K. will interview Ms. Beckett about
her findings and will discuss the full strategy going forward for
proving the fraud in other counties and states.

Tune in (9-11:00 p.m., CST: http://www.republicbroadcasting.org/)

I have no idea about the facts of the case.

I only wanted to say that she couldn't have done that as a poll judge, or as a poll watcher. That's illegal, as it's within the proscribed radius according to Texas law.

I'm not casting aspersions on the story as a whole (because I haven't looked at the facts), but the story's author who might not know Texas election law might make this terminology mistake easily.

Ok, after reading the direct link I was wrong in my initial analysis; I'll post again when I know a little more.

The story doesn't show up on the direct link above; you have to go to newer stories; this one was posted in June, while the link you gave goes to May.

Ok, she was an election judge, but the error in the copied version you pasted above is that she didn't take an entrance poll. She, according to her story, merely asked if they were voting in the Republican primary or the Democratic.

The other four-fifths of voters chose to go with the Republican slate (though the majority made it known they were NOT usual Republicans). When asked for their party-affiliation, people rolled their eyes, sighed, and said ,”Republican”. Some said (well, many said), “I am voting Republican, but only for THIS election”. We heard, “I am voting the RON PAUL party”. Some said things such as, “My father would slap me for this, but I am choosing the Republican party to vote for” and even one person had to say, “My mother will roll over in her grave, but I am voting Republican ONLY TODAY!” This sort of thing happened ALL day long.

This is what she took a record of. That's not against the law like officially asking them would be. Those comments are indicative, but not the way a entrance poll (the way it was described in your story) would be.

Good grief Teri get educated. Austin is one county, not the whole state of Texas. If the majority of Texans, a Repulican State mostly cast their votes for Romney the percentage at the end from all reporting precincts project the voters choice.....Romney is the choice of most of the voters of Texas who voted for him....... Ron Paul will not be president........ Get a grip !
