Fracking: The Gift That Keeps Giving

doofiegirl POTL~PWCM~JLA 2012/05/03 12:29:00
.. I don't really understand the fracking methods , but whatever it is, it seems to be working! A Heck of a lot better than Odimwit's 'Green Jobs' , any how! Not only has fracking revolutionized natural gas production so that we now have enough natural gas to last 100 years, fracking has also allowed production of crude oil from shale, thereby potentially transforming the United States from being an importer of oil to one that’s self sufficient in oil sometime in the 2020s.
In addition, fracking also spins off additional liquids from the production of natural gas.
Natural gas liquids (NGLs) are the icing on the cake from fracking. In addition, we can export refined petroleum products that can create additional jobs. We may even be in a position to export crude oil if the government allows it.
Perhaps, fracking’s greatest gift has been to make us aware that it’s possible to achieve energy independence.

The only "Green Job" Obama really wants is for the money printing presses to never stop. And then send it overseas to stash for when we kick his sorry ass out of office.

Prior to the technologies that are available now, Natural Gas was at an all-time high of $14PMBTU's. In SPITE of obama's desire to thwarrt drilling, the INDIVIDUAL ENTRAPANUAL spirit of America started to work as PRIVATE property allowed new wells to be explored and drilled!

THUS... just four years later, the price of Natural Gas closed last at LESS THAN $2 per million units!

Hmmmmmmmm! Mr. President, what did you say about finding new supplies would not lower the cost???

Good post, Doofie... "Fracking" has been proven to be environmentally safe. As you point out, there are major benefits with doing this.

" WE " are the Saudi Arabia of Natural Gas with enough to last for CENTURIES ! Between that and our Vast Oil Reserves ( Not being Used ) , we " COULD BE " Energy Independant !

This " Sadly " is not the case because for the last couple of dacades , we are FORBIDDEN to use our own Oil and told by our leaders that we must buy our Oil from people who want to kill us ............. Go Figure !

NO, fracking is dangerous. You'll be tainting food, water, the animals, the enviroment and put people's heath at risks.

We should carry on with digging for fossil fuels unil we find a much better, efficient, and safer way to get resources. We've done enough damage as it is.

What's wrong with researching yourself? Look on both sides and see what you can find, that's what I like doing (when I'm bothered).

*before this goes anyfurther...yes....I am too lazy to actually gather links, call me lazy as much as you want, it's the truth.*

I did, perhaps I've read wrong and unreliable information? When I think about it, most to almost whatever we do is either dangerous and or bad for the enviroment.

Looking around, I've noticed fracking is not exactly safe, before we use this method we need to make sure it wont cause anybody/thing problems! Infact some areas HAVE contaminate drinking water, and made people feel unwell. And no, I don't know "nothing" about this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Fracking has been done for well over 50 years, and is not the problem many think it is. There have of course been some accidents, but not anywhere near enough to stop using it.

Again the sheep being led to the slaughter by the media.

Decades of doing it have not been proven to have an effect. There have been isolated accidents, but overall it has a good track record.

People who have been living near Fracking wells have had all sorts of complaints. People have undrinkable and famable water, and are exposed to chemicals making them sickly, their pets/livestock are dropping dead. Everything we do leaves damage, nothing is perfect, this is what Fracking does!

I think the Fracking method needs improvements to make it safer for all. And we can all head towards the future.

Everything man does has some effect on the environment! The very act of breathing does ! Commonsense ( there Is such a thing!) and good planning are needed in Anything does. Too bad it's not usually applied by people with Liberal ideas! Now, don';t come up with 'they thought of this, or they did that' That is probably true-------------but it was at the expense of the taxpayer and for gain (AlBore) rather than for the good of the planet!

Until somebody creates an energy source cheaper to use than fossil fuels, we should keep using fossil fuels. I hear hydrogen from water is cheap, but I haven't seen it used much yet.

I will state that we should convert automobiles to use natural gas in the U.S. as it is used in many places worldwide.

Before it can be used in an engine, it is converted into a gas, then compressed. So it's not as simple as just using water in your tank. Requires Electricity to do the Electrolitic conversion.
