Fox News Channel anchor-reporter Kelly Wright was honored on Tuesday as a "Black Media Legend" during a special event sponsored by McDonald's in New York City.
As a kickoff to Black History Month, McDonald's New York tri-state area restaurants celebrated the achievements and talent of "Black Media Legends" at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel and unveiled a 2011 Faces of Black History poster depicting 17 honorees, including Wright.
"We have a charge to keep, and that's to keep it going," Wright said while accepting the award.
Wright, who currently co-anchors "America's News Headquarters" on Saturdays, also works as a general assignment reporter in the network's Washington bureau. He has also co-anchored "Fox & Friends Weekend."
Prior to joining Fox, Wright, a graduate of Oral Roberts University, worked as co-anchor for WVBT-TV in Virginia and received two local Emmy Awards for his reporting and co-development of a documentary and news series on slave trade.

Yes, I am sure that all the haters, and race baiters will be out in force. I would expect to here some clime somebody is trying to rob the Rev, King of his honorable contributions to this country, and the black people.
What I don't understand is why we have to have a month that is set aside for a Black History Month. Does not every race or creed deserve a Month to themselves. History is just that History. It should be discussed and provided every month, to represent American History. And just why is it this month Black History, and not African History Month? The PC word that describes them and how they describe themselves is African-American. All except this month. And if we are talking about black history, why is it not the history of all dark skinned people in America, that may be from any other country in the world, and considered black. While we are at it, why not a Hispanic month, and an Irish month, and a Muslim month. They all live here, and a good many of them are citizens. They may or may not have come from Africa.
I would like to congratulate all the honorable people nominated.
