Four Girls Falsely Accuse Taxi Driver of Rape, Taxi Driver Proves Innocence Video: Does this taxi driver has the right to sue?

SenorBabyMan May 22, 2009 16:26:16

Four drunk girls got inside a taxi insisting to smoke inside, which is illegal. The cab driver didn't let them smoke so the four girls started cursing at the cabbie. After they reach their destination, the four girls refused to pay the cab driver and they cried rape. The cab driver showed police the video proving that he is innocent.

Now the taxi driver is suing! The veteran Edmonton taxi driver spoke public to the media after filing a civil lawsuit against the four women who falsely accused him of rape. The taxi driver, Soner Yasa, said "I want to teach those girls a lesson. If it wasn't for the video inside my cab, they could have ruined my life forever." Soner Yasa seeks about $240,000 in damages from the four women ($60,000 each) to cover emotional and mental distress.

GOOD! every time a woman cries rape falsely it makes it harder for women who REALLY WERE raped to find justice! And as the guy said his life would have been fucked up if he didn't have that tape.

He needs to spank their lying asses in court. I don't care if he just gets court costs & legal fees, this needs to be addressed. Drunk doesn't excuse behavior. They chose to get drunk. Drunk doesn't make anybody mean, dishonest, criminal, loving or anything else. You are what you are; drunk or sober.

False accusations of rape not only destroy the lives of the accused but make it harder for women who ARE raped to get justice.

A Lawsuit is definitely in order, but in the end they will be buying their way out, as so often happens. They should be tried for Making False Charges, False Arrest and any other charge than can filled against them, given 18-24 months of probation, be mandated they take random drug & alcohol tests in the probation office, serve hundreds of hours of community service and work in all aspects for a Rape Crisis Center. It won't happen, but two years of making their lives miserable and controlled in every possible way, while having their freedom, would truly be justice and compensation! rape crisis center years lives miserable controlled freedom justice compensation

yea but trying to get something like that out of them for making his life difficult is like the girls trying to get him trouble and not paying him for not letthing them smoke, sue yes and the money is kinda high, but maybe there expecting them to talk it down to a decent amount so they started high, its good thing it all turned out right for the driver.

Not only should he be allowed to sue, but these girls should be charged with obstruction of justice. If someone can be hauled in for calling 911 while in line at a fast-food joint for obstructing justice, these girls certainly should, too. I hope they have to pay out the wazoo!!

It is not even a matter of just teaching them a lesson because they probably won't learn anything anyway. He should sue them because they have it coming. People sue for so much less and this seems like something that is sue worthy.

It's called defamation of character. Absolutely he has the right to sue, and I hope he does. They will never falsely accuse anyone again, and, sadly, if one of them actually does get raped (Heaven forbid), they might not get believed because of this stunt. And why should their drunken state get them off the hook? It doesn't work with anything else.

He definitely should sue! This is the kind of moronic behavior that makes all real rape victims more vulnerable to skepticism. Jeopardizing the taxi drivers freedom, and his job for their own amusement or because he would not allow them to break the law in his cab is repulsive. These little elitist twits chose to get drunk. They can pay the price or go to jail.

Those bitches make things a lot tougher on those that are actually raped. Plus trying to ruin a guys life because they couldn't smoke is utterly ridiculous. People are so selfish it is disgusting. I hope they get enough consequences that they learn how to become decent human beings at some point in their lives.

Damn right sue them blind and, I would sue the police as well for not seeing this as a crime and, letting the girls go unpunished. Crying wolf like this does nothing but make it harder for actual rape victims. If anyone files false charges is a crime

I think maybe that amount of money might be on the steep side, but i agree that what those girls did could have ended than man's life as he knows it, and it is extremely irresponsible of them to do that. Take it a step farther and you see the more stupid "chicks" like this do and accuse people of something as severe as rape just because they didn't get their way, makes it harder for women who are actually assaulted able to be taken seriously!!!

I agree with him his life would have been ruined had he not had video proof. They need to be taught a lesson and not only that they should be charged for reporting a false crime. This is not alright and there are many women out there who are raped for real and have a hard time proving it because of drunk idiots like this.I doubt he is getting any money though. These girls couldn't even pay a thirteen dollar cab ride.
I say probation and community service should be in order. Also they should be forced to attend a rape victim meeting so that they see the seriousness of the situation first hand and not to play around with a very serious and emotional situation

The women were drunk by choice. Therefore, they are STILL responsible for the stupidities they were involved in. I am tired of people crying "I'm not responsible! I was drunk! (or high, or stoned, etc.)" I'm sorry, but mental illness isn't a temporary, self-induced situation. If you choose to drink, smoke marijuana, snort coke, or use any other substance not prescribed by a doctor FOR YOUR OWN USE! or misuse any prescribed substance, YOU ARE ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE for the consequences.
Yeah, this won't make much of an impression on people already drunk. However, it might make an impression on at least these women, the next time they begin to drink and contemplate continuing until they get drunk.
Besides, the law applies evenly. If you file a false report, there are consequences, and if you libel or slander someone, there are civil court consequences. Fines look real great to me!

Thats like going into a field and throwing the feathers out of a pillow, then trying to pick all of them up and putting them back in the pillow, it can not be done! Remeber what goes around comes around.
