Four drunk girls got inside a taxi insisting to smoke inside, which is illegal. The cab driver didn't let them smoke so the four girls started cursing at the cabbie. After they reach their destination, the four girls refused to pay the cab driver and they cried rape. The cab driver showed police the video proving that he is innocent.

Now the taxi driver is suing! The veteran Edmonton taxi driver spoke public to the media after filing a civil lawsuit against the four women who falsely accused him of rape. The taxi driver, Soner Yasa, said "I want to teach those girls a lesson. If it wasn't for the video inside my cab, they could have ruined my life forever." Soner Yasa seeks about $240,000 in damages from the four women ($60,000 each) to cover emotional and mental distress.

GOOD! every time a woman cries rape falsely it makes it harder for women who REALLY WERE raped to find justice! And as the guy said his life would have been fucked up if he didn't have that tape.

Stupid girls. He would have had to have been quite the man to rape 4 girls at once. Couldn't 3 have run away while he was busy with one? Stupid girls. One case where video surveillance is useful.

If this man had been convicted of sexual assault, he could have lost his job, lost his freedom and been put on the sex offender registry. Not to mention the mental trauma and stress of the accusations and the time in prison. Women have to learn they CANNOT cry rape when they don't get their way. Rape is a very serious crime. Throwing about false accusations of such a crime should be equally as serious. The man involved might not have been physically violated, however, the accusations would have "raped" his life.

I, as a woman, am completely appalled by the ignorant actions of these women and would hope a successful law suit would teach these girls a lesson in morality and fairness.

On top of that, The judge should charge those girls and
they should serve the sentence the driver would have to
    serve if guilty.

I think the girls need to be punished, I am not sure the courts would be the right venue. The only ones to make out are the lawyers. Maybe enacting a caning law would be appropriate. Five lashes may even help cure their over indulgence of alcohol.

He should sue and sue big!
Those little spoiled, trailer trash girls should be held accountable for their actions, because the cab driver is right. Had he not had the tape, it would have been their word against his, and he's a foreigner, with an middleastern name. Come on! anyone who would say he'd a gotten an immediate fair shake at that point is either very naive or plain stupid. Maybe after an arrest, jail time, a lengthy court case, a divorce, and job loss, the truth would come out, but still....
Those girls should have been arrested on the spot for calling the police under false pretenses. And to accuse the poor guy of Rape because they couldn't smoke!
    The audacity!
Now that deserves jail time, (a serious ass-whopping by female inmates), thousands of dollars in fines, a year of community service, and thousands more in restitution to the victim of this slanderous, disgusting, dispicable accusation.

  • +2 raves [-] mrgentile wow-really June 02, 2009 22:33:03
Seriously! It kinda sickens me when people throw around those kinds of accusations because it is a horrendous crime and the actual victims suffer all kinds of trauma because of it. I would think those falsely accused suffer just as much mental trauma.
  • [-] wow-really mrgentile June 03, 2009 14:18:51

Yes. Taxi driver Soner Yasa has the right to sue, teach those girls a lesson.

The very least I would try to get is charges of defamation of character and slander, as they announced to passersby that he had done something which he had proof was not the case. Thank God he had film evidence. Drunk or not, they need to be sued to the fullest extent of the law. To use their drunkenness as an excuse to let them go free is to forget that when a person is drunk and their inhibitions are down, you see the REAL person behind the mask. They showed their true nature here. They chose to break the law and smoke, chose to defame and slander an innocent man who was providing them a legitimate service and they chose to lie about him. Likely they were even underage drinking. Let them have it, both barrels.

And while he is at it, I would go after the cops for dereliction of duty. For them not to haul the girls in on some charge was reprehensible on their part. No wonder people don't trust cops as much as they ought to be able to

He has been falsely accused of hacking into someone's e-mail, and SH has suspended him while they investigate. However, the person who accused him has been suspended for cyberbullying.... his absence makes it appear he has been found guilty, which is pandering to a certain right wing biased group. I hope he gets his public apologies from SH and Fef soon.
