It's become increasingly obvious that the Right Wing has absolutely no respect for the Constitution, no understanding of American history, and no desire to live up to the values that our Founding Fathers based this country on. For over 200 years we have had political differences, but up to now both sides of the issue have recognized that when a law has been passed and the Supreme Court has ruled that law to be valid, we moved on to the next issue as one nation. Not any more. The Republicans have decided, like most three year olds would, that if they can't win the game they're going to blow up the ball. Isn't it time that the Right Wing acknowledges that the American people elected someone they don't like and just live with it until the next election and do their jobs in the meantime? How many more times will the Right Wing put the nation at risk with their childish greed? For three years the Republicans in Congress have blocked hundreds of proposals, many of which were earlier made by Republicans, and done enormous damage to our rights and our economy in so doing, not because they believe they are acting in the best interests of the nation, but simply because someone they don't like proposed it. GROW UP ALREADY, RIGHT WING.

Former GOP Spokesperson Calls For Armed Uprising In Response To Obamacare Decision

An email sent from former Michigan GOP Spokesperson Matt Davis after the Supreme Court's decision to uphold Obamacare has caused quite the stir today. Its question,"Is Armed Rebellion Now Justified?" sounds more at home in the cotton fields of Georgia during the 1850s than from Michigan in the 21st Century.
Here is the letter, from Michigan Capitol Confidential:
Is Armed Rebellion Now Justified?
Implicit in Benjamin Franklin's fabled response at the conclusion of the Constitutional Convention was a dire warning: That the Republic would one day devolve into tyranny unless we the people prevented it.
In 2008, we the people elected Barack Obama as president, and the 100-year progressive trek to tyranny begun in 1912 with Woodrow Wilson's election was complete. It cannot be said too many times — for the purposes of emphasis and clarity — that the Constitution was possible ONLY AFTER the American Revolution; and that the war itself would not have been possible without the collective agreement, as so eloquently articulated in the Declaration of Independence, that the course of human events will sometimes justify one group of people to sever themselves from their oppressors.
In other words, America itself was possible only after its people summoned the will to risk their lives and their futures — as well as those of their children — for a freedom they did not enjoy but knew was their gift from God. Along with their desire to be free came their willingness to engaged in armed rebellion for their freedom.
If government can mandate that I pay for something I don't want, then what is beyond its power? If the Supreme Court's decision Thursday paves the way for unprecedented intrusion into personal decisions, then has the Republic all but ceased to exist? If so, then is armed rebellion today justified?
God willing, this oppression will be lifted and America free again before the first shot is fired.
When asked for clarification, Mr Davis had this to say:
"You can't have people walking with lattes and signs and think the object of your opposition is going to take you seriously. Armed rebellion is the end point of that physical confrontation."
But later on that day, Mr Davis had a different story to tell, claiming it was all an editorial issue:
I should have read it more carefully. I would take out the part about armed rebellion.
This is not how a Democracy works Mr Davis. The people spoke when they elected President Obama. To call for armed insurrection is how tyrants are born.

mich52 2012/06/29 13:00:52+6These stupid Cons preach the Constitution to us day in and day out yet when the highest court in the Country says they are wrong they start with all lame stupid crap as usual... The Constitution isn't a simple document for simple-minded people, its to bad RWNJ's don't understand that simple fact...

Meanwhile, Republican governors are having a meltdown because they were so sure the Supremes would strike the entire thing. Now they are scrambling to come up with something and are busy stamping their feet in typical brat like fashion.
Here in Texas, we have the highest rate of uninsured in the nation... 25%. Ricky is very poor at math. He closed 12 women's health centers where the federal gov kicked in 9 dollars for every one dollar from the state. Gov. OOPS! thought that was a raw deal, so it is a very good bet he will try to slip and slide around the Medicaid expansion even though the federal gov will kick in 164 billion between 2014 and 2023.
There is no doubt our sleazy governor will find someway to kick all Medicaid particpants to the curb. Typical Republican attitude... kick the poorest of the poor again and again.
Health care legislation locations
The stimulus legislation
H.R.3200 - America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009
HR3590 - Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
The SC ruled it constituional but they did not rule it a good piece of legislation. Hence...we conservatives will fight this thing tooth and nail.
I do not have the answers on how to make this thing better. Someone does and the problem will be solved.
Didn't Obama say he wasn't going to raise taxes on the middle class? Oops.....George Bush was fried for that one. I'm thinking this may all backfire.
