For those who have been following the previous thread I created about Troy Anthony Davis, this is an update on the situation.

For those who have been following the previous thread I created about Troy Anthony Davis, this is an update on the situation, and a link to email the District Attorney of Savannah Georgia.

I have been following this case for sometime, and I take this personal because I am anti tyranny to the nth degree, both government, and private tyranny, I do all I can to stand up to both! Even if you are one who supports state ran executions, this is a case that should absolutely outrage you, no physical evidence against this guy, witnesses that have RECANTED their statements, and here's something to think about, would Troy Davis be in this situation if the "victim" was not a cop? This is an example of government tyranny of the highest magnitude, and this is something the public should not tolerate! The public should not be tolerating any form of government, or private tyranny!

I give a lot of credit to Troy Davis's Sister Martina, she has dedicated her whole life to helping her brother, and it has really taken a toll on her, we all should be lucky enough to have family like Martina.

This is an email I got just this morning Ana Zamora from Care2 Petition Site, I encourage folks to sign this petition, if the link doesn't work, you can copy paste the link in your browser, and if there's anything on who is in a position of influence who could be of help in other ways, I encourage you to do a good deed for civilization, and for guy Troy Davis.

Dear Sean,

I
write today with devastating news. Even though thousands of activists
like yourself, signed a petition to save Troy Davis from execution, the
Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles denied clemency today for
Troy Davis, and his execution is scheduled for this Wednesday, September
21. This terrible decision to deny clemency for Mr. Davis is a
poignant reminder of why we must end the death penalty in the United
States and the rest of the world.

Please
e-mail the Georgia parole board and Chatham County District Attorney
Larry Chisolm and ask them to reconsider their decision.

Time is running out. There are only 24 hours left to stop the execution and we must act now. Please urge them to reconsider.

Thank you for all of your efforts in this campaign.

In solidarity,

Ana Zamora

If criminals actually received some form of rehabilitation while incarcerated, we would have fewer released criminals re-offending. However, our prisons are horrible places to be. If you are not being attacked by other prisoners, you are being attacked by the guards.
Most people don't realize that the guards are not cops. They do not have proper training before they are given a gun, taser, or baton with which to use on the prisoners. Most would qualify as a sociopath. Male guards often rape female prisoners and male guards often set up fights between prisoners and bet on the outcome. Our prison system is not much better than third world prisons. If you want drugs, you can get them from the guards.
We must change the way we treat human beings if we are to ever create a civilized person able to re-enter society as a productive citizen. If you treat a person like an animal, you will end up with a man who acts like an angry animal.
Now, the only people we let loose are criminals with no skills, no ability to care for themselves, and no way to find a job. Their only recourse is to re-offend. This is especially true now, when so many people without a record are unable to find work.

This is so true. There's so much abuse and testeone in the prisons. You definitely come out a scared angry person and you're always in defense and survival mode. This is not good for the prisoner or the society they will be released into.
I think prison guards are a special breed of agressive bullies. We badly need prison reform.

How true. An innocent person put in prison comes out with the knowledge of how to be a better criminal. They are shown by the guards how you are supposed to treat your fellow man, ie: with cruelty and a complete lack of compassion or understanding. Until this is learned we can not expect it to change. How sad.

We need prison reform so desperately. We need to imprison people that are a danger to others. Pot smokers and gamblers and prostitutes and white collar crime should have punishment that should fit the crime. If several of these were legalized and taxed we would be better off in so many ways. And if you didn't even commit the crime your personality is changed forever. You're so right it's sad that our Beautiful American is run so poorly in so many areas.

We have a lot less murders, rapes, assaults than the US.

As far as drug running and drug use is concerned, the US is the world champion. If it wasn't for the volume of drugs used by americans, there would never have been heroine grown in Afganistan or cocaine in South America. The drug use is also obvious for all to see. The number of GOP and Tea Party supporters proves the huge drug use

The US has 6x more people in jail than China whilst having only 25% of the number of people.

What the hell is wrong with you guys, are you a country of uncivilized criminals?? Then on top of that you use your legal system to murder more of your people. Do you need them for food as I see you have to import the majority of your food because you have poluted all your rivers and sea food with your stupid addiction to oil.

    4,8 mil tons veg oil
    3,9 mil ton sugar
    7,9 mil ton vegies

    5,2 mil liters beverages

If we live in a hell hole, why are so many Americans moving here???
Why do US farmers move their operations here, especially race horse farmers?

The SA government built 1,4 million free houses for the homeless, how many did your government build? (Last new public school built in US was 30 years ago)

I'm afraid your country will soon resemble Haiti because of the decay and collapse of your economy. But don't worry, I am sure all the friends the US made in the last 10 years will help you out. oops sorry you have made only enemies the last 10 years. But maybe Israel can bail you out.

South Africa is the world's biggest producer of platinum, and one of the leading producers of gold, diamonds, base metals and coal.

South Africa holds the world's largest natural reserves of gold, platinum-group metals, chrome ore and manganese ore, and the second-largest reserves of zirconium, vanadium and titanium.

At the same time, there is considerable potential for the discovery of other world-class deposits in areas yet to be exhaustively explored.

The sector spans the full spectrum of the five major mineral categories - namely precious metals and minerals, energy minerals, non-ferrous metals and minerals, ferrous minerals, and industrial minerals.

Apart from its prolific mineral reserves, South Africa's strengths include an extremely high level of technical and production expertise, and comprehensive research and development activities.

The country has world-scale primary processing facilities covering carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium, in addition to gold and platinum. It is also a world leader of new technologies, such as a ground-breaking process that converts low-grade superfine iron ore into high-quality iron units.

Since you seem to be out of touch with reality, its the western economies that fell and the emerging economies maintained 4-7% growth.

Its the collapse of the US economy that caused the west to fall with them.

However that will soon change when the US$ is replaced by a new trade currency currently planned by BRIC states.

Then the US$ will become a US only currency with a suitable value.

It must be scary for you, having lived in a bubble of lies spun by the GOP and FOX that everything will be fine whilst they spend all your country's wealth on war.

About 3.5 million US residents (about 1% of the population), including 1.35 million children, have been homeless for a significant period of time. Over 37,000 homeless individuals (including 16,000 children) stay in shelters in New York every night.

And this in the "richest" country in the world?? Doesn't say much for the character of Americans. It shows a shamefull money grabbing selfish nation. That is what the world sees and you wonder why the worlds people hate americans.

As far as freedom is concerned, you are delutional if you think you have freedom in the USA. You cant even board a plane without some one feeling you up the crotch ( doesn't happen in China), your communications are monitored and if you reveal any crap your government gets up to you end up in jail like Manning. if you happen to have a middle east heritage you can end up at Gitmo without any trial, if you happen to be gay you better have eyes on all sides of your head to survive. To start with there are about 14500 murders per year and the death penalty works. I can't think of one executed person who murdered another human being after his execution.

Edit: Sorry, I just noticed you were from South Africa and you're commenting on the American death penalty. OMG that funny.

For every 1000 crimes committed in South Africa, only 430 criminals are arrested. Of these, only 77 are convicted and barely 8 of these are sentenced to two or more years of imprisonment. It is also calculated that South African convicts have a 94% recidivism rate.

The South African Government reports 23,500 murders per year but the actual number is closer to 32,500 per medical records.

You need to worry about South Africa.

WTF kind of question is that? I'm not on the jury - why would I know? I DO know that there is some serious doubt entered into this case and that alone should warrant at least that the death sentence be commuted. It sounds to me like you want this guy to fry and your more in the business of erring on the side of guilt rather than innocence - which is not how the justice system works.

Ok fair enough... let me take it down a notch.

You bring up a good point. One thing that bothers me more than anything is because, to my knowledge, the state of GA has not come forth with any response to the fact that 7 of 9 witnesses have recanted and that there is no physical evidence to support the conviction. These are my few facts and I'm open to a rebuttal from the state, but none was offered and that is VERY shady. I'm not going to assume the state of GA is just doing the right thing.
