Mayor Larry Kiker of Fort Myers Beach town defended the council member's decision to fire a town employee, Scott Janke. Although there is no reason why the town fired him, Janke says that he was immediately fired when the Mayor and the council member found out that he was married to a porn actress. Now that Mayor Kiker has gotten a lot of media attention for firing an employee just for the fact the he is married to a porn star, Mayor Kiker says that the town fired Janke because of his performance not being too good.

In my opinion, it sounds like the town Mayor and Council members are jealous that Scott Janke's wife it hot and makes more money than everyone else.

I don't watch porn so I don't know who she it, and it really doesn't matter..... especially if she is JUST married to him, do they go to city council meetings and f**k right there on the desk or something??? Who gives a shit who he is married to, if the chick was like a mass murderer then okay, but a porn star....naw that is just lame.

1. If they fired him for marrying a porn star, I have to ask who they were paying the salary to? I don't think the porn star figures into the picture.

2. Maybe his performance was not good so he is trying to use this as a scape goat for his own failures.

It is obvious that they fired him because of who he was married to, and not because of job performance, or they would have said so in the first place. Personally, i don't see how any man could remain married to someone in the porn business, but that is HIS problem, not that of Ft. Meyers Beach, or it's idiotic town officials. I hope he sues them and drains their coffers.

The man fired should file a 10 million dollar lawsuit if that was the real reason. So it's OK for shxt packing employess to be protercted against discrimination, but not a man and woman being married, and she happens to be a porn star.

I can see firing someone for being married to a politician, that makes some sense. Porn stars screw a few people for money, but politicians screw everybody (also for money) but mostly just because they can and it feeds their ego.
