Wow. I wouldn't say it was right to fire her, but suspend her for a while; a 'time-out' as teachers in those grades put it, would be acceptable.

That's just disgusting. In the article it reads that she asked a police officer if it was ok to have students 'clean glue off their desks?'... Like that is the same type of thing. She had the girl clean up PISS from a little boy who makes a mess when he pees frequently apparently. That little boy's parents need to make him wear a diaper or get medical attention for whatever disorder he probably has. Poor thing.

Of course, I would probably line the class up and make all the kids laugh at him, if he wouldn't clean his own mess. But, I'm not a very nice person to people who don't pick up their own messes...even kids.

This isn't new anyway it does happen to all school for the Deaf. even Deaf don't share whole story with their parents for sure those teachers and others will be fired. They do it to save their money.

I see a number of the young people here on SH see nothing wrong with it at all...its always OK with them and even something many of them feel moved to defend ...while not one person question the boy who “refuses to clean up after himself” , or the transfer of responsibility not to the teacher or the janitor (as defined by their jobs) but to another student.

It's because they don't see what they have to lose yet.

Wait till they are 40 years old, with careers established (hopefully). Let's see how happy they are to give it away then.

That is a big deal and they were right to fire her...Those that think it is not a big deal either have no children or make there children clean up pee at there homes as well. Its very unsanitary plus who lets a 6 year old use disinfectants? I would not make my 7 year old clean up her own pee if she had an accident at home let alone another persons. The bottom line is if she abused her position in this case where else would she abuse it?

It was mopping up with "toilet paper," not a mop. Have you ever tried to clean up liquid with tissue paper? No doubt the child's hands came in contact with urine. The teacher deserved to be fired. The pissy kid could have a disease or infection.

she violated the trust given her by the parents. Her child should not have been asked to clean uo the pee. What else has this teacher done? It is people like her that demean the education system. What would you want done if it was your daughter?
