Florida state prosecutor Angela Corey has charged George Zimmerman with second degree murder in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, the Associated Press is reporting. He is already in custody.

It has been over 40 days since Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon inside a Sanford, FL gated community.

Zimmerman has been missing since the night
of the shooting and the case has subsequently become worldwide news,
prompting activists, celebrities and even President Obama to speak out.

Yesterday Zimmerman’s lawyers withdrew from the case, citing their inability to contact Zimmerman.

Lawyers Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig
expressed concern in a news conference about Zimmerman’s emotional and
physical well being, claiming he has taken actions without consulting
them.

On George's current whereabouts, a law enforcement official told the AP:

He's in custody in Florida but
wouldn't say where. According to reports Zimmerman voluntarily
surrendered himself to authorities, he has new council and he was out of
the state of Fl.

Zimmerman's new lawyer Mark O'Mara told CNN that his client turned himself into police.

Special prosecutor Angela Corey holds a

Trayvon was shot and killed by Zimmerman on February 26th inside a Sanford, FL gated community.

I wonder if he will still be convicted, even with two eye witnesses, announced today, who saw Zimmerman being beaten by Martin...Does Self Defense come to Mind..
But to prevent all out race war...Zimmerman gets convicted no matter what the evidence proving he acted in Self Defense

i think it a myriad of factors at work here - the most prolific[during election times] is political - however, tensions from radical black groups being key as well.

Treyvon is/was a welfare kid; his Dad downloaded a kid and left town; his Dad lives in Miami, Treyvon lived in Miami but was not in school visiting his estranged Mom in Sanford. $uddenly hi$ Mom and Dad are together again in Wa$hington, D.C. They couldn't afford to pay attention until thi$ happened; who'$ paying for the DC trip? why are hi$ parent$ together for the fir$t time???

Good points, it is amazing how fast they go from ghetto to DC when they have a racist scream going on.

Treyvon was never that 12 year old, in that picture, innocent baby boy that they fabricated. He had been in and out of trouble. With that said, Zimmerman still didn't have the authority to get out of his SUV and hunt down ANYONE with a gun. What actually happened when they met?? only one person on the Earth knows that so WHO can disprove him??

HUNT is a strong word - that conotates premeditated, vengeful planning,stalking. Not noted as of yet however, is that Z 'could have' been running to keep up of T's whereabouts (as the kid fled between buildings) so that Z would be able to point T's position out to police when they arrived. Then, the kid turned on Z and attacked him.

I read Z lost track of the kid, the kid hid somewhere so Z figured he was up to no good and went looking to find where the kid was hiding. he didn't want a "false alarm" when the cops DID get there. You know Z had done this numerous times without incident; many of those resulted in arresting a trespasser. it's not like Z had a propincity for shooting people.

The race pimp$ saw "gated community", "Florida", "Zimmerman" and a$$umed the guy was white but it turns out he is 1/2 latin (Peru) and 1/2 german. Since this was not a white chasing black incident the race pimp$ created white latino; not a black latino or a latino latino but a white latino; what is that? diversity is the opposite of unity - celebrating "Black culture" when it is opposing norms of society is the root of many of our problems - Why did Trayvon call "a friend" and not 911 ? Why did he not run home (its a small community) ? Why did he fight Zimmerman ? ...why are Trayvon's supporters claiming he had a right to attack someone for "fallowing " him ?

Prosecutor will have to get all twelve jurors vote to convict to get this silly murder charge upheld. She knows that is hopeless. The charge carries some lesser homicide charges as "included lesser charges" (like manslaughter) which they can compromise on. The hope would be that by asking for murder 2, they can get Zimmerman to agree to accept something like negligent homicide. If he does, he is being gullible, for they can never get twelve Floridians to agree he is culpable. Even if they get an all black jury, getting twelve of us to agree he did not have the right to defend himself just because his attacker is black would be very unlikely. Too many of us have had family or friends who have been attacked by young men like Trayvon. Having worked with victims of abuse for many years, my sympathy for the victim of the attack (Zimmerman) far outweighs my identification as a Florida black.

BTW - people of all colors have reason to fear no longer having a right to defend ourselves + our loved ones if we are attacked - the SYG law is clear and it is a dam good law ! If a Back man with gun gets jumped and shoot a white guy today I will stand by him not having done anything wrong ! -

This was only racially motivated because Ovomit made a comment & got Eric (the racist) Holder involved & once they came forward E.H was seen congratulating AL (the PIG) Sharpton. This will be another example of self defense that is held against a victim in distress. This is also POLITICALLY motivated NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU. As should have happened. We can now learn what transpired and what the REAL FACTS are as opposed to what the media and you media lemmings would have us believe. I've said all along to let the investigation run it's course then decide whether or not to charge based on the information, evidence and facts obtained. I'm betting the investigation isn't nearly completed but obviously there's enough probable cause to charge Zimmerman with the offense of Murder 2. Now, it's "hurry up and wait" for the investigation to close and the case to come to trial. The next hurdle... an impartial jury... either way. Thanks to all of the MSM press coverage, the Al Sharptons, Jesse Jacksons, new black pussies, obummers of the world that'll probably be a challenge. But then again, when has it ever made a difference?

According to our Constitutional Justice system - Zimmerman is a SUSPECT until proven
guilty. Unfortunately we are ALL victims of media as [lemmings} in our modern society,
because that is the ONLY avenue we have to even remotely begin to piece together TRUTH. TV, Internet, Smart-Phone. If a person doesnt [do] those venues - then there are other alternatives:

actually, "INNOCENT" until proven guilty but you're still spot on. Even if he might be acquitted he'd remain guilty in many peoples minds thanks to the press coverage and their successful campaign to foment hate!
