Five Things To Know About The Republican Witchhunt Against Attorney General Holder
Five Things To Know About The Republican Witchhunt Against Attorney General Holder

In 2006, during the presidency of George W. Bush, the Justice Department launched the first of a series of misguided “gunrunning” schemes that eventually led to the death of federal Agent Brian Terry. Rather than look to ways to prevent such a tragedy from happening again, however, House Oversight Chair Darrell Issa’s (R-CA) spent his tenure as a committee chair trying unsuccessfully to embarrass Attorney General Eric Holder.
Next week, Issa plans to escalate this witchhunt by holding an committee vote on a resolution to hold the Attorney General in contempt of Congress. Here’s what you need to know about this vote:
1. Issa Has No Case: Issa’s uncovered no evidence showing Holder bears any blame for the botched operations begun under George W. Bush, even though the Justice Department turned over thousands of pages of documents concerning the operations. Instead of accepting this fact, Issa has requested many more documents containing confidential information regarding ongoing law enforcement investigations, and is now threatening to hold Holder in contempt if these documents are not turned over. Holder is entirely correct to withhold these documents, however, because Justice Department documents are not subject to congressional subpoena if they would reveal “strategies and procedures that could be used by individuals seeking to evade [DOJ's] law enforcement efforts.”
2. Reagan’s Justice Department Agreed With Holder: President Reagan’s Justice Department warned in the 1980s that the Constitution’s separation of powers prevents the kind of documents Issa is seeking from being revealed to Congress because of the risk that the legislature could “exert pressure or attempt to influence the prosecution of criminal cases.”
3. Law Enforcement Rejects Issa’s Witchhunt: Issa’s efforts to embarrass Holder are an unnecessary distraction that hinders the Department of Justice’s ability to do its real job. As an organization representing numerous senior law enforcement officials warned Issa, his efforts are “an impediment to the vigorous enforcement of violence and crime.”
4. Even Top Republicans Think Issa Goes Too Far: After Issa leaked his plans to pursue contempt charges to the media, the House Republican leadership pressured him to back off. Indeed, even House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) has indicated that Issa is overreaching.
5. Issa Is Fixated On A Conspiracy Theory: Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of this affair is what Issa once suggested his investigation will uncover. In an interview with Sean Hannity, Issa claimed that the Obama administration “made a crisis” when they continued the Bush-era gunrunning operations because they wanted to “us[e] this crisis to somehow take away or limit people’s Second Amendment rights.” This accusation originates from a former militiaman who supports violent resistance to imagined government attempts to seize his guns. And it amounts to an accusation that a series of botched gun stings that begun during the Bush Administration were actually part of a secret Obama plot to release guns to Mexican drug lords, so that those guns could then be used to kill federal agents, which would then cause a national uprising in support of gun control.

Rebel Yell 2012/06/13 17:18:27+7About six months into Obama's term, Issa was on Maher's show. He was having a grand old time and chucking it up at the jokes. But one thing stood out. Issa said he had about 200 planned investigations into wrong doings in the administration. That raised some eyebrows.
Now, keep things in focus. This was very early in the Obama Presidency but Issa already had.... 200 supposed violations? I looked everywhere for some documentation, but could find none. Nada. So, where did THAT come from? And to this day, the only thing/person Issa has been stalking is Holder.
The old guard in the GOP is hot and heavy on Issa, instructing him to " find something". They are losing patience with him, and with the election around the corner, they and Issa are desperate. But if Issa blows it on false charges.... it will be a very big....BIG...reminder of just how the GOP operates.

If what you say is true then why is Holder withholding evidence and being hostile on the subject. Arms were sold with the blessing of the DOJ and they would not have been exposed if it was not for the gun dealers that were questioning the ATF did not RECORD THE CONVERSATIONS. The attempt by Holder and 0WEbama to incriminate gun dealers BACKFIRED IN THERE FACES LIKE A WET FART.
In 2007, then-Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice ignored a subpoena from the Oversight Committee, saying that she was "not inclined" to comply.
During the same period, then-chair of the Republican National Committee rejected a pair of subpoenas when it turned out that Bush Administration officials were conducting business with email addresses provided by the RNC. Issa has since criticized the Obama Administration's documenting of personal email accounts without re-examining this case. In fact, Issa defended the RNC and criticized attempts to investigate.
1. They are both liars.
2. They are both advancing a socialist agenda.
3. Neither is qualified for the job they have.
4. They both believe they are above the law.
5. Neither will ever accept responsibility for the decisions they made or for their failed policies.
That's all anyone needs to know about these two....and that anything posted by PP based upon a thinkprogress report is filled with more fertilizer than the Elephant pen at the San Diego Zoo.

Weekend reactions from CleanUp ATF forum comment posters to Attorney General Eric Holder’s Thursday testimony before the House Judiciary Committee on the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” criminal operation show disbelief, anger and contempt. The website, established by so-called “dissident” ATF agents and whistleblowers to expose and rectify agency waste, abuse, corruption and fraud, was the initial source for information about walked guns found at the murder scene of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and much further information has been obtained from its members throughout the courses of Congressional and media investigations.
“Watching the latest soap starring Eric Holder...who apparently thinks the rest of us are just too damned stupid to figure out that the use of 'fast and furious' DOES actually indicate OPERATION 'fast and furious' is being referenced,” member Excalibur-2112 observed in a thread titled “Looks like the dope finally stepped in it…Eric Holder.”

“This man needs to be impeached, prosecuted here in the states then handed over to the sovereign nation of Mexico for terrorist crimes against the Mexican people who died because of his failed attempt to push more gun control,” he concluded.
“It's amazing how much AG Holder knows about all the other subjects he was questioned about - but for Fast and Furious, he knows nothing, doesn't remember anything, his people didn't know anything, and he doesn't want to find out anything.... and Bush did it first!” forum member Ike replied, echoing a common reaction to the testimony.
“After that embarrassing foolishness aka testimony by the Attorney General, ISSA Decides enough is enough,” CleanUpATF staff moderator Iceman weighed in. “This is going to be a great 4th of July. Why is this important? Because as long as Mr. Holder get away with lies and incompetence, SO WILL ATF SENIOR managers. Accountability works.”
That’s an important date, because House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa has established it as a deadline for a contempt citation against AG Holder.
CleanUpATF was first brought to the attention of Gun Rights Examiner readers in early September, 2009, when this correspondent published an open and directed plea to the then-Democrat-controlled Oversight Committee to investigate corruption charges raised there. As has been posited since, had the committee done its job at that time, gunwalking could have been discovered, dealt with, and discouraged, and the resultant loss of human life could have been averted. Instead, prominent members who controlled the committee, and thus that decision, showed deliberate indifference to the extremely serious allegations leveled by veteran agents. Prominent among these was Rep. Elijah Cummings, who as ranking member on the committee is now a leading critic of the current investigation.
As for the credibility of the comment posters on the current CleanUpATF discussion, admittedly there is no way to determine who they are and what their level of insider Bureau knowledge is. What is relevant to keep in mind is that the discussion has not only been permitted to continue, but has been responded to by Special Agent Vince Cefalu, a frequent subject of Gun Rights Examiner columns who has been the target of a longtime management retaliation campaign. Also of relevance, longtime readers of this column will recall that another CleanUpATF member posting under the screen name 1DesertRat was the subject of documented exchanges between then-Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson and his chief counsel, Stephen R. Rubenstein, who were trying to determine his agency status and if retaliatory actions could be taken against him under “Orders and Standards of Conduct” rules.
“This is in response to your request regarding information posted on ‘Clean Up ATF.’ “ Rubenstien replied to a Melson inquiry. “Specifically, on December 22, 2010, "1desrtrat" stated that ‘word is’ that Phoenix FD ASAC George Gillet ‘[a]llegedly approved more than 500 AR-15 type rifles from Phoenix and Tucson cases to be “walked” into Mexico.’ The post further states that "[o]ne of those rifles is rumored to have been linked to the recent killing of a Border Patrol Officer in Nogales, AZ."
Clearly, there would quite possibly be no public Fast and Furious revelations at all were it not for discussions originating on CleanUpATF in the wake of the Terry murder. No serious investigator should be ignoring current developments there.
This development, along with other recent Gun Rights Examiner columns, will be discussed in more detail tonight at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time with host Mark Walters on the nationally-syndicated "Armed American Radio" program. Interested listeners will be able to hear the show either by finding a station in the AAR website listing or via live streaming.
Calderon is in bed with 0bozo and should be impeached or whatever they do in Mexico for not at least bringing the gun-walking to the UN and have it prosecuted under International crimes. The citizens are outraged but are in no position of power and certainly don't want to become targets themselves.
Trapped in such an environment, they desperately seek a way to free themselves from the oppression imposed upon them by the white misogynist pimps who dominate their lives and thoughts to the point where they become a mouthpiece for the very pimps who work to oppress them.
Let's examine the conservative women using Sodahead. Although away from Sodahead - among family, friends and community - they may be decent and caring women. Inside Sodahead, however, they attempt to portray themselves as independent but, with every post, they 'mouth' the fear, hatred, racism, sexism, and religious bigotry in the rote manner their white, conservative, misogynist masters demand because, although these men have told conservative women they care about their freedoms, white, conservative misogynists would turn on conservative women in a second if they attempted to utter a thought independent of the irrational dogma preached by talk radio's white, conservative misogynists.

In an exhibition of just how desperately inferior conservative women feel within the conservative, misogynist world they choose to inhabit, these women use sites like Sodahead in a cliquish nature that is more reminiscent of nine year olds than it is of adults.
In an earlier time and place, another woman trapped in a conservative misogynist world and seeking to find some form of self-expression, gave away her body to the pimps of Rome. Sadly, some conservative women give away something far more precious, their souls.
Holder is the most corrupt racist bastard ever to hold the title in his Just-Us dept., far worse than RFK who was in bed with big labor unions and the mob (redundancy here) when they got his bro 'selected' then turned on them afterward for some damn stupid reason.
Issa is 100% justified in what he's doing and seems to be one of the few left in DC with any balls whatsoever.
He's got Holder on the ropes and regardless of whether or not he resigns, is prosecuted for Fast & Furious, one thing is certain.... he is putting a laser beam on this entire administration and exposing for history just what went on during the 0bozo cabal of treasonous crooks.
fellow, if a bit crazy and bigoted, still tough.
It will never happen, nor Karl Rove or anyone else for that matter.
But feel free to hold your breath until it does.
