All government bureaucrats deserve a 50% paycut. Those in the military need a serious raise.

Government pensions, salaries, expenses and benefits. Example: In San Jose CA is a supervisor getting a $225,000 retirement pension for being in the Sharif's Department for 20 years. Now he is getting $130,000 more to be a supervisor that will lead to another huge pension plan. The governor of CA has pensions for being the mayor of Oakland, Governor, Sec. of State, Los Angeles Community College District Board of Trustee, chairman of the California Democratic Party. When he retires at the end of his second go around as governor (now 16 years) he may get over $300,000 a year for his pension. More than he made when in office.

We need to start pay cuts with the government, cutting from the top down, eliminating some jobs while paying others much, much less.

Congress and the president. But I thought they should've been locked in a room an not let out other than potty breaks until they got the fiscal stuff sorted out.

All government employees that make over $100K need to be cut. The top government anual salary needs to be $99,999.99. Any work that needs higher expertise than grunt work should be contracted to the private sector. It should be made by open public bidding on the internet available for viewing by anyone. All congressmen and senators should only be paid for the days they are actually in the halls of congress or in the office of their home district. No pay for time campaigning or trips. That would be a nice start.
