I agree with you and thought the same thing. What are these voters thinking?

I never liked Romney, and his choice for a VP is no winner as well. I will definitely be voting for Obama, because the alternative is more terrifying than what we have.

Obama has had some great ads. It's really hard to say which one is the best. They are right on message and easy to understand. It's another winning ad!

Plus the fact Pat, that the campaign has barely touched the treasure trove of videos and "information" they have in their files.

Have you heard anything about some information that will come out before the election concerning how Romney got the money to start his Bain Company? Someone online here said that whatever it was that he did would make Iran-Contra look like a walk in the park. I have no idea what they could mean but it sounded like it could blow them right out of the water.

I heard the rumor too. The last I heard though, he got the start-up cash from his dad.

Why could they not find anyone in his district to make this add? Appleton and Sturgeon Bay are both in WI8, Which is Reid Ribble.

Considering he has won only 60% of the vote in his district every election- even on the years Obama, Kerry and Gore won it, I would think they could locate at least one person from Janesville to make this

I totally agree that they should have "found someone from Janesville". The part of his district that has been struggling mightily since the GM Plant closed, thousands of jobs lost and he's voted against every initiative to see them thru it. Beyond me, that's for sure.

as he should have, let GM go bankrupt, and get their mess in order.. and come out leaner and stronger, instead of using taxpayers money.

bankruptcy allows you to rework your financial problems. In this case it would have allowed them to renegotiate their union contracts, so as they no longer have to pay 100's of workers sitting in the break room playing cards for 8 hours a day

Union contracts were renegotiated even before the crash and the automakers recognized that even if you don't. That's a fact you can easily go to your search engine and clarify. At the time they were on the ropes, there was no money to be had anywhere and the feds were the only entity available to do that. In the end a million jobs were saved along with parallel businesses.

yes, but they made only slight concessions. why is Honda, Toyota and Hyundai doing great, but GM and Chrysler always on the verge of bankruptcy? which ones are union? which ones are not? game, set match

So you believe that decent wages, benefits and working conditions should not be a factor in the middle class employee?. Its ironic that the factories and manufacturers who have not left for off-shore, go south where the poverty is the highest and need is the greatest for assistance just to live. And the southern governors all bitch the loudest about social services. Go figure.

Actually, astonishingly, Ryan has supported some of the programs that help such as supporting the Auto Bailout (before he was against it.) This is the two faced Ryan - the guy who TALKS fiscal discipline but sure doesn't vote it....

With the oldest GM Plant on the ropes (since closed), Ryan really didn't dare not vote for it. While he has a part of his District that has really suffered during the down-turn, he also has some of the wealthiest to represent too. I believe they're the ones who have put him over the top. Whenever Ryan goes into the Janesville area for a "Town Meeting", he gets a lot of flak. This might give you an idea.

He "astonishingly supported the programs" because part of his district is in what was an auto manufacturing one. He had no choice because the GM Plant in Janesville, Wis and the thousands of workers (as well as parallel jobs, like auto parts) lost their way to make a decent living. You should be relieved to know that Ryan subsequently voted against every initiative that came after to assist those disenfranchised and out-of-work laborors.

Don't worry - I wasn't defending Ryan - just pointing out that he's no 'man of principal' as he attempts to portray himself and makes the same political calculus as every other member of congress in his voting record AND THEN PRETENDS he did otherwise.

The real funny part about Ryan is amongst the clowns available to be R VP nominees he's actually maybe the best of the worst that would pass muster with the Tea Party folks which was a must for Romney.... Seriously - consider Bachmann, Perry, Portman (snore), Santorum (The guy not the messy goo), etc.... BY THOSE STANDARDS Ryan's a super star!

I agree with you totally, but the only caveat I would add is that there is nothing remotely "funny" about Ryan. The only difference is, regardless how we vehemently disagree with him throwing 99% of us under the bus, at least he has core convictions. Something his "boss" more than sadly lacks.

The issues are well defined, not only by this ad but by the Obama campaign in general. I seriously doubt that Romney/Ryan will match George W Bush's vote count of 2004 with 62 million.

Just a reminder, Bush got 62 million votes in '04, and John Kerry got 59 million. By '08, President Obama got 69.5 million votes, and John McCain got 59.9 million, or 2.1 million LESS votes than Bush got in '04. In '04, Bush got 42% of the Hispanic vote and in '08 McCain got 31% or their vote. Romney will be LUCKY to get 25% of the Hispanic vote in November. Romney's endorsement of Arizona's SB1070 tells the whole story.
