Fighting Gas Prices........Pass it on.

THIS IS NOT THE 'DON'T BUY' GAS FOR ONE DAY, BUT IT WILL SHOW YOU HOW WE CAN GET GAS BACK DOWN TO $1.30 PER GALLON.

This was sent by a retired Coca Cola executive. It came from one of his engineer buddies who retired from Halliburton. If you are tired of the gas prices going up AND they will continue to rise this summer, take time to read this please.

Phillip Hollsworth offered this idea.

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
It's worth your consideration. Join the resistance!!!!

I hear we are going to hit close to $ 4.00 a gallon by next summer and it might go higher!! Want gasoline prices to come down?

We need to take some intelligent, united action.
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas .

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them.
BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can Really work. Please read on and join with us!

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $2.00 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $3.08 at Arco and Costco for regular unleaded in Salem , Oregon and climbing every week.

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50 - $1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace..not sellers.

With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action.

The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas! And, we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas.

But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL.

If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point...keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000)... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers .
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all!

(If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am . so trust me on this one.

How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!

I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

Megalocorporatism is outside of supply and demand. They control the supply and they make the demands. Unfortunately, the same even goes for international companies like Wal-Mart who spend more on foreign inventory than domestic inventory. So whoever wrote this article is on the right track. Good catch. Boycotting Exxon and Mobil won't do it though. Click here for a list of American gas companies. Instead, people have to consider only purchasing domestic oil whenever possible, preferably from an independent dealer. The idea is actually less strenuous if you take the following approach. You would located the gas dealers in your area and your most frequent routes. You would then grade the all domestic dealers using domestic oil as first choice, and grade down to international domestic companies. Then from there you would grade down the rest from American non-domestic sources to foreign non-domestic sources; dropping particularly aggressive companies to the bottom (your boycott list). Keeping a small gas can at your place of business (if you can) and at home can help prevent emergency fuel ups. And keeping a 1/2 tank is more efficient than >1/2 tank, and will help prevent emergency fuel ups. This method was in part strategist and well thought out by the group for Made In The U.S.A...

The only way to get gas prices to drop is to force the government to set the price, to force the government to do that all we need is a general strike where all hard working people across the country just stop going to work untill gas prices are where we want them. A general strike would hurt the economy so bad the government would have no choice but to meet our demands.

this plan will not lower the price of gasoline. it will though become a major pain in the butt to consumers and delivery trucks disrupted by boycotts. gasoline is fungible, like oil. don't buy it from iran? fine. iranian oil will turn up in your tank anyway at some point. oil is yet based on the dollar. when obama stops printing money with his picture on it, maybe the price of oil will drop. and when obama per,its drilling again, the price will drop too. and when initial turmoils in the mid east cool down, oil will drop again. there is no shortage of oil, but there is never any shortage of excuses to raise the prices. it is the fuel needed to operate the globe, and they know it. when a new fuel is more efficient and cheaper, it too will be manipulated like oil is today.
  • FeedFwd 2011/02/25 17:22:38

Gasoline is fungible. If you stop buying from XOM and buy from others, they will run out and XOM will have a surplus. So XOM will sell the surplus to those who need it. Same volume of sales. Same customers. Same supply and demand balance. Only the XOM retailers get hurt. The price of gas will go up for several reasons. 1) The government is devaluing the dollar by printing more of them so there is an inflationary component that will exist for everything we buy. 2) government regulations and restrictions increase the cost of producing gasoline and distributing it. This is particularly noticeable in the transition between winter and summer when various locals are switching grade specifications or requiring various boutique grades forcing refineries to produce smaller quantities of more various grades. Alternatives like biofuels are still more expensive than petroleum based gasoline and government regulations requiring biofuel content (think ethanol) also increase the price of gasoline at the pump as well as meat and corn at the table. 3) international government regulations, piracy, and other risks inherently drive up the real cost of producing a barrel of oil, which is the feedstock for gasoline.

I forwarded that story to everyone on my email list a couple of days ago; it's a good idea, but it will take more than that. We have to get rid of Osama Obama and replace him with someone that is going to allow more expolaration and drilling domesticaly. His BS about clean coal and electric cars is not going to help America's transportation problems or our dependency on foreign oil. A tremendous amount of the world's problems have been caused by American and British oil companies finding the oil in the Muslim and South American Countries and making them oil rich nations. Just think, if that had not have happened, Osama Bin Laden and all the terrorists would still be riding camels and not able to strike throughout the world. They would still be riding around in the desert killing each other!

    It's a fallacy. Good luck.

With federal government subsidies you are paying the lowest gasoline prices in the world outside of the producer nations. Without government subsidies you would be paying more than $4 per gallon.

Well I'm a sucker for liberty, so i sent it to15 people.
But the key words here are " intelligent, united action" which america don't have in large numbers.
Americans can't even have intelligent, united action on political issues that will affect their lives as well as their grandchildrens lives if they have to weigh those options against that new boat or that next vacation they are gonna take.
So I say take that vacation america, and when you get back home start packing, because while you were gone having fun, your home was foreclosed on because you foolishly voted for a government that fleeced your country and all it's assets, and what they didn't take, they sold to foreign nations in the form of treasury bonds, and the only thing that's left is the bill, which YOU will pay...................supprise !!!!

Lol, now that's America in a nut shell my friends. Right now in Lybia people living there pay about 12 cents U.S. per litre, which works out to 50 cents a gallon, and they are outraged they have to pay that price, lol. Most of the middle east is along that price and lower, it's only when that oil leaves their country and gets in the hands of the oil companies like EXXON, MOBIL and BP that the price skyrockets to unbelievable prices, well to match those unbelievable oil...

The one good thing about of all of this is the United States government gets royalties off all domestic oil sucked out of our own country. The U.S. Department of the Interior is responsible for leasing tracts to oil and gas companies and collecting the royalties on them, which amount to around $8 billion+ a year. The oil off Americas shores is OURS - we OWN it. But our government get's the money, and they are not shareing it. Instead they are selling it to americans at the same high prices the rest of the world sells it to us for. All in the good faith of supply and demand logic.
And yet those same democrats and republicans that do this to america, get voted back in office time, and time again.
Did someone say "intelligent, united action", lol, in america????
    I don't think so!

republicans america voted office intelligent united action lol america

IOW, boycott Exxon/Mobil until they drop their prices. Then there will be a rush to buy their gas and we'll soon enough be back to Square One. I'm not saying don't do it, but be real. It's one area where "buy American" and "boycott imported" can be realistic.

Fuel taxes chart, federal and state, plus some other items
    http://www.eia.doe.gov/pub/oi...

Average State + Federal gasoline tax $0.4084 or 41 cents per gallon.
supposedly to build and maintain roads and bridges?

So it helps to know where that other 3 bucks is going, I suppose.
