Unfortunately, in this same speech he spewed all that is wrong with it.

    Condoms ≠ promiscuity
Not teaching hate ≠ approving sexual perversion
Teaching environmental awareness ≠ False idolatry

    etc, etc...

The ignorance he spews is EXACTLY what is wrong with ones religion seeping into the public arena. Especially a principle from a public school. Yikes...

So much wrong. Him asking all to pray and therefor accept his version of magical deity (Jesus) is exactly what a principle of a PUBLIC school should NOT be doing. So strange. If I had heard this "speech", I would have been incensed. It would have made me more convicted to stop such silliness. Backfire.

    IMO.

I believe he was showing the folly of the Federal Case Law. Pushing all kids of "stuff" on everyone and at the same time trying to muzzle the free exercise of prayer. Everyone there was reminded that they can pray if they wish. Many chose to do just that.
If you were there you would have the right to just stand there or sit down. No one was made to pray.

No one is trying to "muzzle the free exercise of prayer". No one. You can pray if you wish, no one is stopping you from that.

However, as a public servant, being paid by public funds, a particular religion should NOT be advocated, over a microphone to all in attendance. ESPECIALLY when coming from the principle of the school. Yikes...

"However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM,in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do so. As far as I know, that's not against the law----yet."

What would have happened if I was up there, as the principle of the school, and substituted Jesus with the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

    Enter: the "problem" with this.

The rest of the ignorant, and faith derived assumptions that he spewed over the microphone is even worse, in many ways.

    IMO.

That seems to be the trend in America. "And if your religion just happens to be none, you are free to practice no religon."
