    ONE person who belongs to ONE of the parties represented in the Egyptian parliament has said he would like this discussed in parliament with a view to becoming law.

    Which "THEY" are you talking about? Just because ONE Christian advocates burning witches does not mean ALL Christians are encouraging us to murder deluded old women or teenage girls who like a lot of pale make-up.

    Just because one nutter who is a Muslim thinks necrophilia is OK does not mean ALL Muslims do. I guarantee you that the vast majority would view this proposal with as much disgust as do you and I.

    I'm an atheist. And it was obvious that the "THEY" you were talking about was "Muslims in General" from the comment about 72 virgins. I am not aware of anyone who subscribes to this practice and the only person I can trace who is in favour of it is the guy that proposed it.

    There should be no law in favor of it, but I doubt having a law against it would keep a man who already views his wife as his property from doing it anyway. It definitely is sickening for someone to defile the body after death. That's what it really is, it's not about loving the wife. Respect for your spouse should continue even after death.
