    On what grounds.... National security?

I thought they denied running guns to Mexico on purpose?

The house of cards is about to come tumbling down.

Of course it is a cover up. Why else would he issue the 11th hour executive privilege. He didn't exercise it before, because he didn't think it was going to fly. When he saw that it was imminent that he would be forced to reveal all, he exerted executive privilege over something that he previously claimed not to be involved in. OF COURSE its a cover up.

Holder held out emails because there was something in their implicating someone else. Then Obama gave him executive privilege coverage which basically implicates Obama himself.

I posted a question on this as well. IF, as Obama says, he does not know what is in the documents, then how and why would he assert executive privilege? Doesn't make sense, does it? Unless there is something to hide.

Yes I think it's a coverup. The entire operation was nothing but an attempt to attack the 2nd amendment, and go after lawbiding gun owners by claiming that gun shops were involved in criminal activity. The POTUS, and Holder, would take a huge hit if that information was to be made public. It's CYA for sure.

This is what I have been contending since the whole F&F thing broke. Gun control is in those memos and other documents. This administration is the most crooked since Nixon.

A classic case of CYA to invoke it at the last minute and starkly resembles Richard Nixon's use of "executive privlege".

It's no more of a cover up than it was when pas presidents invoked Executive privilege on other matters. In fact, this is the first time he has done so in the 3 1/2 years he's been in office.

Okay, it is not an issue of declaring EP, that he can do. It is, why after 18 months, he would suddenly, in the 11 hour, declare it over documents that have nothing to do with the WH or him - well, if you believe him, that he knows nothing about Fast and Furious. It is a puzzle. What on earth could be in those documents to merit Executive Priviledge?

Have no idea how you do not know about WMDs - and who told us they couldn't find them (Bush in a full address to the nation) - Now where they went has always been rumored to be Syria - photos of trucks etc but never proven. The 4k lost is both wars not just Iraq and a long way from the really lied about war, Vietnam, with 57,000 sacrificed.

Well we are off topic, lol - have a good one

The way I see it....this country's last hope are the young guns of the Republican party. The Dems have turned into the Fat Cat Repubs of old and have no new blood. It HAS to get better with the Repubs because it hasn't with the Dems....if not....goodbye America.

I say both parties are tainted, since they both receive campaign funds from the same Wall Street and big corporate sponsors. There needs to be reformation in the form of a fresh new party...one that isn't beholden to special interest groups.

Thats where the Tea Party came from and look what happened to it. It was an Independent movement that the media lambasted day and night. Then the Repubs jumped on it and hijacked it. BUT, like I said, the new blood in the Repub party think like independents and I like that.

I don't believe that the president 'hates" America. I think that is utter nonsense. I believe that we should have healthcare, and I don't believe the new law is going to bankrupt America.

The president is not a socialist, a communist, or out to destroy the country as they suggest. I don't believe he was born in Kenya or has some secret plot to get "whitey". It's all nonsense.

    You didn't answer my question.
The healthcare has mandated that we have health insurance and if we don't, they will fine us in the form of a tax that the IRS enforces. If you do not pay the IRS, what happens? That's right. They confiscate your property. Now the government owns everything. Make no mistake about it .....this was a power grab.
Next, they will be telling you that you HAVE to buy a green car or yes, you will be fined in the form of a .....wait for it.... yep, tax.
    Welcome to marxism.

Obamacare now stands as a highly regressive tax on middle- and lower-income families, a tax on jobs, a tax on youth, a tax on health, a tax on freedom of choice. In his decision, Justice Roberts wrote, “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.” This includes Mr. Obama and the congressional Democrats who voted for the Obamacare tax increase.

If you do not pay, there will be no prosecution or manhunt for you. They are not going to confiscate your property or throw you in jail. You can believe what you like...I'm not hear to argue with you.

Look, they screamed that it was the end of America when SS was signed into law in 1935, and in the 60's when Medicare was enacted. Nothing of the sort happened. This is another one of those cases. I promise you...the sky is not falling and the Germans are not coming to march you off to a gas chamber.

But the LAW provides otherwise. We are in debt and cannot afford another entitlement program...they still don't know how they are going to save Medicare.
I am not for big government. Its intrusive.
