Barack Obama signed twenty-three executive orders, or executive actions, or whatever you wish to call them. All were things he said would make America safe from big, bad guns. None of them would have kept Adam Lanza from getting his hands on the hardware he is alleged to have used. (I say "alleged" because I say he had "help.") All of them, plus the very idea of executive orders, puts us on the road to tyranny.

Add this to it: you hear of gun owners prosecuted, and maliciously so, to atone "accidents." Worse than that, now the gun control crowd is trying to get State governors to curtail a key privilege and immunity of citizens of the United States, in clear violation of the Fourteenth Amendment as well as the Second.

All this is an end run around the Constitution. And anyone who loves his freedom, must oppose it.

Yes, those 23 executive orders are unconstitutional and tyrannical.
Tyranny always begins with a response to a horrific event, whether real or (as some say) staged.

The Second Amendment is explicit: everyone has the right to "keep and bear arms."

The Fourteenth Amendment is equally explicit: "No state shall pass any legislation diminishing the privileges and immunities of citizens of the United States."

Andrew Cuomo signed a bunch of executive orders of his own. And the people of New York are none too happy about it. Nor should they be.

We either have rights, or not.

The vast majority of Americans are filled with abject apathy over things like this, and no amount of bell ringing will do diddly...freedom and liberty in America is screwed, and has been for over a century.

Under the US Constitution The president can't make law(he can pass or veto law but can't create it)only laws can come from the congress and executive order are not Democracy in fact we don't even live under a true democracy put Representative Democracy it would be democracy if the 24 orders were on a ballet and we voted them in....just saying and for that fact executive order are not law for the have no bill and have not been passed by the elected officials and signed by the president to make them law and in a way they kinda are anti democracy because the try to circumvent the elected representatives aka the house that under our law are our "local" representative in Washington not the president...But again just saying just not really Democracy

Look at that shooting 67 laws were broken dealing with firearms. The orders and other moves do not stop the criminal but only harass the law-biding.

he knows no one in his party will challenge them, and they out number the Republicans in the Senate, so nothing will happen.

Can you defend any single one of them? They're all bad news.

Especially Number Four: that the attorney general, acting as sole judge, decides who gets to have guns, and who doesn't.

For one thing, this is the same AG who ran guns into Mexico to game the statistics.

My primary objection to this is that it is really boring. It does not usurp congress. It merely outlines the manner in which the executive branch of government will implement laws passed by congress regarding national defense.

I have seen articles on wiki that were slanted in such a way that I didn't agree with the writer, but I have never seen any out and out lies. In any case the forbes link was the 23 EOs regarding gun control.

So you don't trust Forbes either. They listed those 23 executive orders and if you can find anything in any of those 23 that you think is tyranical or unconstitutional please let me know specifically what it is. As for Wiki, it's at least as trustworthy and reliable as conservativenewsandviews.com which was cited by the author of this question.

Executive Orders have been used by Presidents other than this one. But when you have a congress who obstructs, stonewalls, and has the well-earned reputation of being the most ineffective, most do-nothing one in modern history, thank gawd he has the limited power to do actually something for the people they're all supposed to be serving.
  • Bouncer Sissy 2013/02/14 15:38:32
So......saying NO to economic and constitutional disastrous ideas is labeled obstructing?

Some people don't need to "Pass the Bill" as your kind puts it, to know the negative repercussions would be devastating......

Called the Do Nothing and Blame Others...DEM's are very good at it...
over 160 Bills have been passed since 2009, Bi-Partisan, with 32 of them being Jobs Bills...
Reid has YET, to accept them for a vote on the Senate floor...
Until he officially "Accepts" them, they are not allowed to vote on them...

This M below keeps talking about Quantity of EO's Presidents issue, yet has NO Clue what is passed in OBAMA's..he does not want to know...
Like this one here...Part VIII, General Provisions..

Not the Quantity, But the Quality of the Substance...
Congress, is The real issue for NOT stopping his EO's...Might just want to actually Read a few...
Most bills must pass thru the House to the Senate...The Senate is DEM Controlled and has passed Few Bills from the House..REID is the Source of the Stalled Congress...

Yes, those 23 executive orders are unconstitutional and tyrannical.
All I can say is one of the greatest parts of the founding fathers vision is checks and balances and though some in this country think that the president is the leader of the country...He is not he is employee and the head of one equal branch of the Government representing the people and has no more power over domestic affairs then other branches. Executive order are unconstitutional and an over step of power because it overrules the will over the people and there representatives regardless of the letter in front of his name...say Bush made an executive order banning anti military speech in movies. would that be constitutional...No...We are going down a slippery slope because you won't always agree with the person in the big chair.

Saying Bush and Reagan did it does not answering the question, It the idea and in the state of the union that "if the won't act then I will act by executive order" without the other equal branches of Government. t Bush was wrong with his executive orders Reagan I don't agree with the law but his was done in the right way with the approval of congress.
