    Piss-poor decision, I would say.

I take exception to the statement. There is no such thing as an "Ex" Marine! Once a Marine, always a Marine.
  • Willski 2012/04/23 23:55:45
    That seems a bit silly.

You're ignorant of one fact - the Marines have the highest enlistment standards of all the armed forces.

Read the local article ~ he fell onto the third rail, he did not urinate on it.

Roger, put all we know is he had been drinking & fell.
More of a cautionary tale against drinking near subway tracks.

Physical - yes, ASVAB - still the USAF.
Either way they are smarter than Liberals.

Agree with that, a lot of medical members are moderates.
I did 22 yrs and anyone that was a raging Lib didn't last.
Most turn into Libertarians after seeing the way the Government works.
Still there are a lot of Democrats but I have not encountered any lifer Progressives.

There are times in every young life when they feel invincible. Not enough information as to why this happened but he clearly was not thinking of the possibility's. Sad indeed!

Sounds like Post Traumatic Stress Disorder suicide. Or maybe he was just careless. Not so funny.

Sure, but there is a definite influence from the war zone that most people don't appreciate. It as though life did not matter anymore.

It is a pattern. Come back from Iraq and slip on a bananna peel.

I work in the VA as a Volunteer. The actual number is 7% with most recovering within a year of return from combat. One of the few things the VA got right this time around for the OIF/OEF troops.

    Nah I'm fine.

Yeah, wouldn't want knowledge to sway your opinion now would you?
The truth is he fell on the third rail, after he climbed down to the tracks and urinated.

Of course the title spins it totally different.

It's not an opinion I feel strongly about, hardly an opinion at all I don't care if it's a darwin award death or not, when compared to other darwin awards this one probably isn't.
  • Nomad58 Sour Dime 2012/04/24 17:39:58
Agree, maybe it's because I have spent years in fields where data means life of death that I get touchy about people not seeking the best info they can get.

The Guardian and Daily Mail are pretty appalling about adding opinion to American news sources. The first paragraph is opinion and not supported by the rest of the article.

Usually if it's something I really care about I'll seek out my own research to get my facts straight and later someone will correct me and I'll double check and it goes on from there, although I never click on links people post unless it's backing up what they're saying rather than doing the talking for them.
