I have a better idea.........

Make it 12 years, so Senators can complete 2 terms. If you make it two terms all around, then House members get total of four years. Allow House members to run for Senate, as often happens now. We should not be too cavalier about finding good people willing to serve, while interrupting a potentially lucrative private career. Avoid making it something that only the wealthy can consider.

I think that it should be the same for them as it is for the president. Four years and if we want them for another four then we will vote them in again. If they get the honor of us voting them in for another four good for them but that is the last time allowed. We do not move forward with stagnant congresswomen/men.

All registered voters should contact their representatives and get the ball rolling on term limits. Every time one goes into office grasping term limits suddenly forgets about it after they are elected. This includes Tea Party people and our newly elected Senator from this state who ran on term limits and has yet to step up to the plate to help make it happen.
