Every attack 0bama's handlers have instructed him to engage in has backfired. How much trouble is the 0bama campaign in?

The 0bama campaign knows it's not running against our old worn-out "friend" John McCain this time around. It has been desperately lashing out in a series of disconnected, incoherent attacks against Romney, ALL OF WHICH have backfired. In political parlance, one would say these attacks haven't gotten any "traction."

Here's my list of attacks by the 0bama campaign that have blown up in their faces:

- The attack on Ann Romney and stay-at-home moms:
Romney leading Obama among women voters

- The "Romney put his dog on top of his car but at least he didn't eat him" attack:
Obama eating dog: The 11 best tweets

- The "Romney bullying" attack:
Romney Bully Story Labeled 'Factually Incorrect' By Family of Alleged Victim

- The Bain Capital attack:
Democrats Defend Bain in New Romney Ad

- The "Romney wouldn't have ordered Bin Laden killed" attack:
Romney: 'Even Jimmy Carter' would have ordered bin Laden attack

So just how much trouble do you think the 0bama campaign is in?

They're in enough trouble that they're going to have a hard time finding enough dead people to vote to keep it close and then try to steal the election in overtime.

You have got to be kidding. First of all, unlike Republicans, this President does not have "handlers". Second of all, the "attacks" you refer to have not only not been attacks but legitimate discussions of Romney's actual record, but have certainly not "failed" in any way.

    1. No one attacked Ann Romney and stay at home moms. The comment, from someone not associated with the President's campaign or the President, had to do with the obvious hypocrisy of Ann Romney, a woman who has never worked a day in her life outside the home, claiming to understand what it's like to actually have to struggle in life. The comment was attacked by the Right but was an accurate assessment of how out of touch the Romneys are with average Americans. Win for Obama.

    2. The Romney campaign outdid itself trying to cover for Romney's history of animal cruelty, foolishly trying to draw another false equivalence between what a 34 year old adult chose to do to an innocent pet to a seven year old eating the dinner his mother put in front of him. Not only did it further illustrate Romney's cluelessness, but it also showed how out of touch the Right Wing media has become. Win for Obama.

Not only did it further illustrate Romney's cluelessness, but it also showed how out of touch the Right Wing media has become. Win for Obama.

    3. The fact that Romney was a homophobic thug when he was in college is yet another thing that the Right Wing would like to pretend never happened. It's clear from this sorry incident in Romney's past that he never has been an "average American" and has the same elitist snobbish bigotry that most of the Right Wing exhibits. Win for Obama.

    4. Romney has asked the American public to judge him on his record at Bain. The fact that that record reflects a history of driving American businesses into bankruptcy, throwing thousands of Americans out of work, looting the treasury of viable businesses for personal gain and a total disregard for anything other than personal growth pretty much sums up the emptiness of Romney's campaign. It's not surprising that after asking people to look at his record, he now considers looking at his record an "attack." Win for Obama.

    5. This is probably the silliest one. President Obama got the job done when George Bush was a tragic failure, and the Right Wing simply cannot deal with the reality. Mitt Romney said in 2007 that he would not commit the men and resources necessary to get the job done because it was "just one man". Now he tries to run from that as well. BIG Win for Obama.

I guess I have to thank you for posting this. You've completely summed up the total lack of productive ideas in the Republican platform and have well illustrated Mitt Romney as someone completely out of touch with the needs of the American people, who thinks that driving businesses into bankruptcy is an economic "success" and who has absolutely no idea how to do anything that might actually benefit the American people.

Yes, much better to go with a guy whose "plan" will add 3 trillion dollars to the deficit and who thinks that the policies that caused the Great Recession in the first place are worth trying again. The "Tofu" is what's in the White House. Regardless of who you want to blame for the current economic situation we're in, we need a common sense solution to address it. Pointing fingers isn't going to solve it. This current White House occupant doesn't seem to want to deal with it.

The President HAS dealt with it. That's why we've added four and a half million jobs. That's why we turned a 750,000 jobs a month loss into 26 consecutive months of gains. That's why the unemployment rate has dropped two full points from the Bush high of 10.1%. That's why the stock market has doubled. That's why the housing market is starting to move. That's why YOUR taxes are lower today than they were four years ago. That's why General Motors is the world's leading car manufacturer again. That's why we added more manufacturing jobs in 2011 alone than in eight years of the Bush Administration combined.

But hey, why continue to move in the right direction when you can vote for a candidate who wants to go back to the policies that caused the crash in the first place.

Oh, he did all by himself? Did he use magic beans or a magic wand?? lol The economy has knack of healing itself without government interference, which is what it's been doing in spite of the current administration.

The highest unemployment under Bush was about 7%, not the 10%+ you blame him for. Furthermore, we have had a net loss of jobs since Obama has come into office, not a net gain.

The bail out of GM began under Bush and was continued under Obama, but Obama went too far when he handed the keys to the Unions which contributed mightily to the problems in the first place.
  • ProudPr... All Ame... 2012/05/22 13:52:03
    ProudProgressive
By the end of the last fiscal year of the Bush Administration, October, 2009, the unemployment rate stood at 10.1%. That's when the stimulus funds started to kick in and the rate has been dropping ever since.

We do not have a net loss of jobs. We have added over four and a half million jobs, and were it not for Republican filibusters in Congress that number would probably be doubled by now. The LAST thing the economy needs now is more "austerity".

The Republicans, including Bush, WANTED the auto industry to fail. The UAW is one of the largest unions in America and the Republicans have been trying to destroy unions for 30 years (See, e.g., the United States Postal Service) Every Republican opposed the President's loans to GM and Chrysler, including Mitt Romney, who famously wrote "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt". I love how you folks keep trying to give Bush, who caused the problems, credit for solving them. Next I guess you're going to try to give Bush credit for getting bin Laden, too, right?

Two things the Republicans seem best at are blaming others for the problems they cause and taking credit for the problems other people solve. You have the talking points down pat. Good job.

Actually the end of Bush's second term was January, 20 or so, 2009.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...

No, we do have a net loss, that's why the unemployment rate is still higher than when he took office.

    http://www.politifact.com/tru...

Bush and the Republicans did not want the auto industry to fail. They authorized billions in bailout for them with the first TARP.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/1...

What they wanted them to do along with Romney was to file a chapter 11 reorganization which is what they eventually did. This allowed them to renegotiate all financial obligation for more favorable terms.

    http://www.autoblog.com/2009/...

Speaking of talking points, you should at least check the accuracy of yours. Liberals are not know for embracing the truth, or reality for that matter. Your points are factually incorrect. Your side never deals straight, even with each other.

He's getting really ridiculous now along with most liberals. I just found out that Obama actually has spent less than any president in history and that most of the 5 trillion additional debt is what Bush spent(thats what they are posting these days).......so, they can't resurrect their Hope and Change Garbage, their new motto of Forward is going over like a turd in the punch bowl, so now it's back to the old "Bush did it" mantra. One thing that is becoming more evident daily is Obama and the liberals are feeling backed into a corner and can't do anything but put on their helmets to protect them from their constant head banging against the wall.

I didn't cut and past anything, RJ. When I do post others' material I give the source so that, unlike you, I won't be pretending something is legitimate when it isn't.

Besides, Media Matters is one of the most accurate sites around. Every claim is backed up by links, every statistic is sourced, and on the rare occasion any mistakes are made they are corrected. As opposed to Right Wing smear sites like Foxnation, WorldNet, Drudge, etc, whose best stab at backing up their bullsh*t is "sources have told an anonymous person who told my brother in law who told his cat who told me that....."
