They talk about freedom, love of country, the constitution, support of the troops, then support those that crap on what makes our country great.
I don't think it's American to tell a woman what she can do with her
body and force her to have her vagina violated for no medical reason. I
don't think it's American to have people thrown out for using free
speech at Allen West town halls. I don't think it's American to deny 6
different Mosques building permits. I don't think it's American to tell
an assembly (union) it can't petition the government (no collective
bargaining). I don't think it's American to teach creationism in public
school science classrooms. I don't think it's American to tell people
that love and care for each other, they can't have civil unions like
heterosexuals marry and deny their children benefits from a step parent.
Same for defending our country from enemies foreign and domestic. I
don't think it's American to attack another country in a preemptive war,
nor torture people, we lose our nations place as the light of the
world.
Needless to say some shallow hateful ignorant conservative people here post questions and replies that make them right wing nut jobs.

This country faces an enormous challenge with the corruption which has become systemic and pervasive in congress. However, we have become so hyper-partisan that there are many people out there who only see the corruption that exists on the OTHER side of the partisan divide. The politicians use this divide very skillfully and cunningly to avoid addressing the issue.
As long as this situation exists, I have little hope that things will get better anytime soon. On the contrary, I am very cynical about the future direction of this country.
