It just means that Perry will be spouting everything Forbes pays him to.

Perry is, in fact, sold to the highest bidder.

Seems like he's throwing away his endorsement. Perry is a lost cause.

Deep down, I think Perry is a good guy. He's a true champion of states' rights, and generally has a good conservative political platform. My problem with him is that he wants to win so bad he's willing to change his positions for votes and money. And that is not the kind of leadership we need right now.

I think back to the 30's, when Hitler seized the Sudetenland (the German populated strip on the western side of Czechoslovakia). PM Neville Chamberlain brokered a "peace deal" with Hitler, assuring that there would be no British response. Sir Winston Churchill blasted Chamberlain in Parliament, warning that appeasing a dictator would only encourage him to take more. Churchill was literally laughed out of the Parliament building; the MP's thought he was a kook. Shortly thereafter, Hitler invaded Poland, and the UK had to declare war because of a mutual protection treaty with Poland.

    Nobody was laughing then.

Yeah, it's too bad. I really like Perry, in terms of what I think his real beliefs are. The problem is that I don't think he has the guts to stick by those beliefs if it costs him money or votes. What we need more than anything right now is guts and integrity, someone who won't sell their soul to get elected. My favorite is Michele; I really hope she wins.

It made me really sad when I saw him saying everything I wanted to hear from a politician. If I wasn't familiar with how he 'rolls', I would have fallen for it. :/

I really don't think Americans are ready for what we 'need'....

No question; that's why some of them "roll." The big issue is that no GOP or Obama can win the presidency on their core voting base alone. Whoever wins the general election has to capture a decent percentage of moderates. Since the economy is so bad, most moderates will blame it on Obama. So the GOP can afford to be gutsy and stick to real conservatism. Centrist anger at Obama may outweigh their fear of "what we need" (several decades of fiscal austerity to pay off the official debt, and mass abrogation of the off balance sheet debt by restructuring social system liabilities and ending full faith and credit guarantees for federal agency liabilities). I admit mass cutbacks of federal headcount, mass broadening of the tax base, and draconian federal social system reform (lower benefits and needs testing) are terrifying to alot of people, but if we don't do it we're going to collapse. Our total national debt, official plus off balance sheet, is now $105 trillion, or 700% of GNP. That's $340,000 per American, including children. We are simply running out of time. If the crisis is allowed to grow too much bigger, no solution will work.

Everybody, for now, is entitled to their own opinion. Well I guess that is unless you are liberal. Then your opinion does not count or is wrong unless you agree with their opinion.

I certainly don't. I don't care who endorses who. I make up my own mind. I hope I'm not the only one.
