Egyptian prez says America must change as Salafis push UN to enforce sharia

On the eve of his first trip to the United States as Egypt’s new Islamist president, Mohamed Morsi said the United States needed to fundamentally change its approach to the Arab world, showing greater respect for its values and helping build a Palestinian state, if it hoped to overcome decades of pent-up anger.

He made no apologies for his roots in the Brotherhood, the insular religious revival group that was Mr. Mubarak’s main opposition and now dominates Egyptian politics.

I grew up with the Muslim Brotherhood,” he said. “I learned my principles in the Muslim Brotherhood. I learned how to love my country with the Muslim Brotherhood. I learned politics with the Brotherhood. I was a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

In other words, Morsi is Muslim Brotherhood and that will never change. Related: Video: The Muslim Brotherhood & the ‘Milestones’ Process

“Successive American administrations essentially purchased with American taxpayer money the dislike, if not the hatred, of the peoples of the region,” he said, by backing dictatorial governments over popular opposition and supporting Israel over the Palestinians.

Sounds like a win-win: Egypt pays back the billions of American taxpayer dollars wasted on Egyptian hatred and the U.S. stops illegally taking citizens money to promote, protect and fund Muslims and Islam. Of course that is not likely to happen until the American people rise up and demand accountability from their corrupted government. In fact, Obama is forgiving $1 BILLION in Egyptian debt owed to U.S. taxpayers.

May I suggest that President Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood, the rest of the Islamist, and the whole of the Islamic world to just piss off. Take care of your own and leave the rest of the modern world to their own. And that will result in a situation that could be called "Win-Win." Or at least the West would not be dragged down to your level.

Someone should tell Mr. Morsi and Mr. Ghaffour that they can't lower the minimum age of marriage from 18 to 14 because they like 'em young, and then demand that the rest of the world show greater respect for their values.

While Muslim Brotherhood Morsi pressures Obama, his sharia-plotting cohorts the Egypt Salafi urges U.N. to criminalize contempt of Islam. That means criminalize our free speech.

(Reuters) – Egypt’s president and other Muslim leaders should demand the U.N. criminalize contempt of religion after the release of an anti-Islamic film and cartoons which demonstrate growing racism, said the leader of the biggest ultra-orthodox Islamist party.

Despite doctrinal and political differences with President Mohamed Mursi’s Muslim Brotherhood, the Salafist Nour Party played a key role in supporting it during presidential elections in June.

Led by Emad Abdel Ghaffour, it now ranks as the second-largest party in parliament and plays a formidable force in Egypt’s new politics.

“We call for legislation or a resolution to criminalize contempt of Islam as a religion and its Prophet,” said Ghaffour, one of four permanent assistants to the president, on Saturday.
