Who knows, after all the president here was filthy rich while the people were dirt poor, so my take on it is that these people rose up because they were tired, but I think nothing will change for those people, even now that someone new is stepping in.

I live in UK and feel that the British Media supported the revolutionaries. Since the Media is so closely linked to our goverment, they finance their extravagent trips and social events, I suspect our government supported the revolution.

When all is said and told it will be 60 years of influence and perhaps even more.

Yes. rampant commodity speculation is at fault for the majority of the price increases in food.

I dont think so. I think the event is very much not in favor of US and Israel interests.

Oh and why has the cost of a candy bar gone up so high? I went to buy a Hershey bar the other day and it was $1.00. Last year it was .50 cents even three for a dollar. How do they justify a dollar for a candy bar?

What a mess, they need to bring back the position limits on commodoties. They are destroying these countries and think nothing of it. Why cant we get a handle on this? The way Ed Schultz explains it - it makes it clear to just about everyone what is happening. Whay are they not stopping this?

Yes, the US did have a hand in their unrest, but it had more to do with Obama's speech in Egypt back in June of '09.

Food prices are rising here too, so according to Ed's theory we should be rioting soon too.

Um, Tea Partiers aren't rioting because of Gabby Giffords. I really don't know to what you are referring.

I don't need to watch the movie in order to say yes. Indeed!! Problems between the U.S and places in Africa have long turmoiled since before some older politician went to go help with the worm problem around there, more than a couple years ago!! I'm not merely saying Egypt and AIDS we've been worrying about for ages here. I used a dictionary to look up the word 'unrest' and know how 'yes' this is, though, for now, I lost my train-of-thought.

All problems according to "Big Head" Ed go back to the Bush presidency. The evil Bush family and Wall Street have caused the entire world to go to hell including the uprisings in Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, etc. I have no doubt that Ed believes what he says that the number of hungry people in the world is growing and has grown because of Wall Street. Remember homelessness and the hungry in America - the misery index - is an issue or topic of major concern every time Repulbicans are in control or in the WH. The 2012 election will be an opportunity for Americans to vote on the misery index ---- "Are you better off under Obama than you were before Obama? How's that change thing working for you?" Financial speculation is the cause of spikes in food, energy, and currency and I bet could be the real culprit behind global warming (real sarcasm here).

Any social system that requires regulation is a system that should absolutely not prevail!

I'm not sure but it wouldn't surprise me. The US has it's nose in the business of the entire world. And we wonder why they all hate us.

I dunno. The value system is different over there They put more value ond different thingd than people in the US. They seem more interested on religion and keeping with its rules. Money might be important but not to the extent they make it sound. Money hasnt been spokem of with reference to egypt the way religion has ...I dunno.

Let's not make this into a liberal v conservative issue because the reality is there is no difference those seemingly different types of politicians, they all serve the same agenda.

yes! "Prices in Egypt are up 17% because of a worldwide surge in commodity prices that has many factors but speculation on Wall Street and big banks is a key one."
