i am reading Dylan's book and he is spot on about the money in politics and the bribery that has followed by lobbyists for years. He is leaving MSNBC to work with groups to try and stop this.

This guy has it covered. Glad to see he's holding both the dems' and repubs' feet to the fire. And they have placed the bundle right at the feet of the big O. It's about dadgum time. We got no leader.

You should have titled it "Dylan Ratigan" has a "Ron Paul" moment. Maybe you'll get it one of these days.

No I make an ass out of myself quite frequently with out your help.

It sounded to me like Rattigan read it right out of one of Ron Paul's books. Failing to mention that is doing Dr. Paul a disservice don't you think?

I made a similar post about it a while back.

i'm already a fan of paul, but paul is not congress. paul is one man, and this is really about someone in the president's seat saying to people, that congress is bought. paul does not have the power. obama has the power. obama has to say it, or whoever is the president. no one but us few care what paul says. that's just the way it is.

You say "but paul is not congress. paul is one man" Paul is running for president, and has been saying this for years in congress. The difference being is Paul has resisted temptation and can not or will not be bought out.

What a great example to set. "Lead by example" kind of catchy isn't it?

Now all of a sudden a liberal makes the same realization and it's big news.

The whole GOP political arena will get a good "slap in the face" wake up call soon enough. Many more people will care what Paul has to say, and it's long overdue.

All I know is I like paul and i was hoping he would win the gop nomination. i had no idea he would do so poorly. obviously the neocons in the gop outnumber conservative by a wide margin. I don't know ratigan, but i like what he said. if he's a liberal, then spreading his message to liberals in a nice way would be great. when people agree with you, you should shake hands with them, not rub it in their face. that will just make them change their mind.

There is still a chance Paul could win the nomination. The Romney campaign has resorted to some pretty dastardly deeds and broke the law several times.

"Our government, national and state, must be freed from the sinister influence or control of special interests. Exactly as the special interests of cotton and slavery threatened our political integrity before the Civil War, so now the great special business interests too often control and corrupt the men and methods of government for their own profit." - Teddy Roosevelt

I don't disagree with the main point of his rant, but I do with his over simplifying of how the problems he shouted could get resolved. He's a Libertarian who always blame normally the Democrats much more then the Republiconteabaggers for everything that's wrong with this country. I've heard him describe the president in the past as corrupt along with other negative description which is why I lost respect for him.

Dylan feels comfortable to go on such a rant, because his show will be ending in a week or so. He knows dam well that there are laws that even the president can't get around and yet he want to hold Obama responsible for what Congress is doing. I see the president discussing that very issue in time but in his own way.

Fortunately the president is pragmatic and will not be side tracked by the likes of Dylan Ratigan. If anyone really noticed how Dylan was so quick to go along with that RWNJ who was saying to blame the president for a system that has been in place for well over 2 decades, as the raving nut said.

Dylan planned to go off, because that's his stepping stool to his soon to be Obama bashing as a Libertarian. Mark these words down because it's coming and I'm glad his stock fake raving a$$ is out of the MSNBC lineup. I'm no fan of his because he's a sheep in wolf ...

Dylan quite often reminds me of Joe Scarborough who tries to pretend to be so knowledgeable on the issues and speak as if they have facts to back up their rhetoric, but if someone was to do a little research into what they said, the results would be that the information provided to their viewers was either factually wrong, a half truth or just garbage.

Finally I do buy into some of the more substantive parts of the Libertarian message, but I reject the messenger, because in my book based on past shows I've watched of his, Dylan has a credibility problem when you do a little digging factually on what should be presented to his viewers as opinion and not facts.

I felt that his message was basically, "The president has the authority, the moral authority, to talk to the people and say, "these guys are ALL bought and paid for.", in the hopes that we the people will listen and insist on changing that. I think most of us already feel this way, that ALL of them are bought, and that our interests are being overridden by corporate money. Unfortunately that would mean Obama having to stab the democrats in the back. No president wants to be a lone voice against all of congress, especially the half that got him/her elected.

I agree with what you said but the president wouldn't and shouldn't do it right now. Timing is everything and he has to keep his eyes on the prize by getting reelected and not waging a justifiable fight against those he needs to keep this economy from falling over a cliff and this country from going to the dogs, etc..

Now as far as Dylan is concerned, he's a loud mouth often short on the fact bully who thinks getting his point across is by intimidating his guest into submission to his point of view. I've never liked him since I heard him painting the president as corrupt without facts to back it up.

It is a very long shot. I know that Pelosi will be back next year and Reid won very handily almost two years ago. A friend of mine actually vote for Reid knowing a little about his record. He had not gone out and look at the whole picture. This was because the Tea Party candidate made one gaff.

I agree with most of what he said, but it take pressure from the people to get Congress to pass bills. It is not the job of the President alone as he has suggested. The President job to take it to the people just as Reagan did. The people need to speak up and tell Congress also to reign the President as he is taking authority that he does not have.

Congress and the Politics of Money may exacerbate problems, but most problems would exist w/o money being there, and money's presence in politics is far from all bad. If you take all the money out oif politics you end up wih a government of Labor Unions and Evangelicals - not a fate I would seek to have happen.
