but but - guns are illegal in australia - you cannot own one at all so how are there shootings? - must be a misprint - everyone follows the rules dont they? LOL

Lol nit at all but Sydney outer suburbs have Middle Eastern gangs my sister said they are bad. She is in Castle Hill she doesn't lock her doors either lol

I've never been one to worry about it either but lately it's getting all to close to home.
I had my door kicked in living in New Farm but I handled that myself and there weren't any guns involved...

I don't think Aussies really give a poop in general maybe that's what saves us...if you ignore something eventually it will go away. The cops seem to be getting on top of it which is good to see.

Not just because of Jacob but I think your right about the cops. The bikies had a big get together I came out of Bunnings at Caseldine heard a roaring noice without a lie there must have been a thousand Harley's riding down the street and I lost count of the cops in cars on bikes completely surrounding them. It was on the news that night that they were taking legal action against Queensland police for harassment lol LOVED IT don't like it GET OUT OF QUEENSLAND lol

Generally but the criminal element are obtaining illegal weapons...guns are still available to gun club members,property owners with animal pest problems and professional hunters but the licencing system is very strict...

Unless one is a primary producer,professional shooter or a member of a registered gun club there's not really any other option.There's nothing like leaving people defenceless is there.? It would be lovely not have to worry about such things but with the everincreasing rate of gun related crime one can't but help it.

I hear that o.k. Yeah, the bad guys will always figure out a way to get their grubby paws on weapons where the legal citizen won't be able to do it. That's why I say that when the government comes out with stricter gun laws then the only people being hurt are the legal citizen. The bad guys are getting theirs illegally so they couldn't give a hoot.

It may actually help terminate Obummer's reign if he did tackle the second amendment. In Australia the catalyst for disarming the population was a killing spree in Port Arthur on 28 April 96, Martin Bryant, an otherwise insignificant 28 yr old Tasmanian, killed 35 people & wounded 23. The victims were tourists comprising families, the elderly, children & generally people relaxing at a popular tourist site. Because it was a tourist site there were numerous video recordings of various aspects of this massacre, children being shot & killed the most difficult to comprehend. The Australian governments response was rapid and wide reaching & at that time a shocked public were not as resistant.
Now, in Australia an informed public realize the weapons were simply taken from honest citizens & increased in value on the black market, if inclined to kill the arsenal is still there to be purchased.
As an Aussie, when I think of Americans I think...big hearts, trucks, country, christianity, music, the flag & the family gun collection...not to mention the family dog. I realize it is far more diverse but I like my perspective.
Obama would be tackling an American tradition & ripping at core value systems. On top of the Obama medi-gate debacle (a tax by any other name is still a tax) his bleeding hea...&&

Miss Apache I congratulate you on your insight. There are Americans here that don't have the understanding that you have just portrayed here. And for the record? What you think when you think about Americans pretty much applies to me with the exception of the dog. My dog passed away a few years ago and I just didn't have the heart to get another one. Hopefully one day you can come for a visit and have yourself a great time. This is what my dog looked like with the exception that she had blue eyes instead of brown

That is indeed a beautiful animal even with the brown eyes...blue eyes would be a sight to see on a lovely dog such as that.

Thank you my friend. Yeah, it happened all sudden like. My daughter was taking care of her for awhile and she called to tell me what happened. It turns out my dog and my daughters shepherd were out in the back yard playing when my dog just collapsed and died. Turns out she had a heart attack(according to the vets report) and she was only like 8 years old. I never knew she even had any kind of heart problems. She sure was a great dog. And she loved most everyone too.

My Spider senses are telling me that there's a dog out there somewhere waiting for your help bman, I hope that one day you might make the move and go find her.They certainly are wonderful creatures and if I could get another one I would...unfortunately the place where I'm living now won't allow pets bigger than a bird or fish so it's impossible for me to get another dog.
