someone is schooling you on life, politics and the economy and you look at their profile and find out they are 18? Come back in 30 years and we can have a real discussion!

««Gingey, the Master Debate... 2012/06/24 17:24:29+21Interesting, since the most vile people I've met on sodahead have been 40 years old and older.

Two questions:
1. Don't you think the policies of government impacts the youth just as much as it impacts the other generations?
2. Is it fair if other generations get to be politically involved but not youth? now we may not have the experience you have, but your asking us to trust your judgment and not think about how your ideas impact us.
What also is not even fair, is it's the policies of government that are driving this nation into debt, and it's not you that's going to pay it off, it's me and my future children. Sorry, but I don't want to be paying the bills for the mistakes I didn't make.
If you knew the actual history of the U.S. voting age laws, you would know that were it not for us "old farts" YOU(at 20 yrs. old) wouldn't be old enough to VOTE!!!
The 26th Amendment was passed in 1971 dropping the voting age from 21 to 18. This was entirely due to us arguing the fact that if we were "old enough" to be drafted into the military, we should have the right to VOTE!!! However, at 18, the MAJORITY of us were NOT performing "due diligence" concerning politics, NOR is the MAJORITY of the youth today!!!
As for your statement, "Sorry, but I don't want to be paying the bills for the mistakes I didn't make.", GET USED TO IT!!! The facts are, EVERY generation feels the SAME way, and EVERY generation WILL pay for their parents' mistakes!!!
Besides, I don't think you can associate age with knowing what the hell is going on around you.
Not all act like this, no, but being here for a few years gave me a bit of an opinion on it.
kinda dumb for americans not to listen to what people from othewr countrys now think of the usa, Unl;ess of course americans are ok with chasing all their allies and friends away.
I consider it a public service to help educate the ignorant, but while you can lead a horse to water, you can't make them drink.
but yes I've had many tell me what is what ,, and there between 18 -21 ...makes me laugh !
or a teacher that didnt know what they were talking about ....yeah those are the ones ...
there is one on this site 21 yrs old ,,,and was teling me about the facts of W W I I ,,,and the treatment of our guys was blown out of poroprtion ..and there was no battan death march...
My dad was a pow in japan for 4 yrs in the war ,,,survived the march as well ....
and another who said we didnt have any right dropping the A bomb in japan ...
and or our involvement in NAM was over glorified by the GI's who came back ...and agend orange wasnt that bad .....this in the past 3 yrs of the current factions brainwashing !

""ya know I edit before I hit "submit ' and after I submit there is a slew of words missing letters "" so we have to edit it again ...what with S/H anymore ?
my son argued w/ the teacher first ( said his grandpa was a POW in japan and the info they had was wrong ) ,,then I went in to back him ..w/ evidence ..they suspended that subject and changed the cirricullum , I offered to teach that subject ,,they declined ...
then the school board tried to say my evidence was tainted ,,but was actual testimony from prisioneers , pictures of released POWS and their physical conditions & apperances .. I won the arguement ....
they said the pictures were to graphic ... !
What surprises me are the ones that are over 50 still touting dumbsh*t responses like a 10 year old. Granted, most are libs so that doesn't really count, you know...brain damage.
