Trump in His own words:

Yesterday The Donald (Trump) took to You Tube announcing that He was Canceling his Groundbreaking, Self Aspired highest rated televised debate in American History.
Since The announcement of the debate nearly two weeks ago it has been a firestorm of Controversy, which started with Pundits asking whether it was appropriate to begin with. After that The G.O.P. which has been less than satisfied with it's crop of contenders, went on to explain that this would not be productive and would make a further farce of a nominating process that has already been Plagued with One punch line after another. Whether it be Rick Perry's Well Documented Brain Freezes, Mitt Romney's Steadiness and Constancy of not being the front runner, the surplus of Late Night Comic Material regarding Herman Cain, or The Donald (Trump) being the initial Front Runner. King Makers of the G.O.P. Such as Karl Rove, suggested Heavily against being apart of this debate. Trump (The Donald) would reply in The Donald (Trump) fashion by getting heavily on the defensive, Name Calling, and down right Obstructing the conversation.
Only a week would go by before the only Participating members would be Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum. The Show must go on, Right? What ever Newts actual motivation was Whether it be He just met Trump (The Donald) and didn't want to be rude, it would look bad for the Front runner to duck a debate, or The Donald's (Trump) would be a fine campaigners donation, What ever the case Newt was in. As For Santorum, He probably saw it as a chance to finally get a word in edge wise. I'm guessing Santorum has never been exposed to the Donald (Trump) Santroum would've probably ended up saying less than he has in other debates, at Trump's (The Donald) Most Humble, It would have looked like an interview between Trump (The Donald) and Gingrich. Even when Bill O'Rielly was asking The Donald (Trump) to explain the Validity of this debate He (The Donald Trump) couldn't remember Rick Santrorum had also RSVP'd Yes!
Well, Needless to say almost Two weeks have gone by, and the Highest Rated Debate in history has been downgraded to a "Conversation" and now to "Canceled". As This Story concludes it's hard to pick winners and losers, to me this whole thing seems to be just a waste of a News Cycle. And outside of The Donald (Trump) The only other person I can think of that will be disappointed by this news.

Sorry Jon!
Sad Jon Stewart

We need to stop giving into pop culture on important things. Good choice on T.V.'s part here.

Jon Stewart is a political joke and appeals to people who like his 'gimmeee a break' faces and gets howling cult-like jeer cheers from his dummy audience, however, having said that, Trump is a big tacky ham in his own way.

I regret the debate won't happen and here is why - love or hate Trump he would ask absolutely blatant PC-incorrect, ham-fisted questions. Not these contrived little manipulation questions we see far too often. Not these 'sensitive broad based' typical open-ended questions.

Trump would say something like "So uhh.. hey if we defeat a country in a war shouldn't we TAKE all the oil we want?"

I like that! I want to hear that. I also want to hear a candidate just blatantly answer that and not go on and on "well hold on.. if we want to something this country we need to look at something , UN, cooperation, better our national reputation something something". Trump would interrupt like a thug "DO YOU or Doesn't you!?". Good!

I like how out of the entire post you Pick the picture at the bottom to get on the soap box, but then go on in your second paragraph citing the same reasons why Jon Stewart wants to see this debate as well.
But a debate moderated by an arrogant, bloated, spray tanned, Megalomaniac, would be a train wreck at it's most productive, and all but 2 candidates realized that. Trump represents a mentality that a lot of people see in this country as a part of the problem.

I like how you noticed I started with the conclusion of the article. Are you like some kind of English Lit Professor?

But where are you wrong? Debates can be hosted by dimwits or geniuses and be productive (or not) depending on the candidates. It's up to them. The hosts can be nearly irrelevant and I would suggest you could barely remember the names or faces of the last 20 debates you watched. But you may easily remember the candidates.

Trump represents a mentality that a lot of people think is part of the solution. I say that to match your Captain Obvious powers.

I'm not an English Lit Professor, that was just an observation. Debates can be hosted by dimwits, We had Jim Kramer. But by your rationale maybe we can have a debate moderated by Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Courtney Stodden, as long as the Candidates bring their A-Game Right?

Trump represents a mentality that a lot of people think is part of the solution. I say that to match your Captain Obvious powers. I say that to match your Captain Repetitive powers.

Well no, my rationale doesn't suggest that you could throw a Kardashian or whatever left-wing freaky reality star. But you could get Jon Stewart or Donald Trump to host because they both have a lot of experience on television, in front of big crowds, dealing with contentious arguing candidates and asking questions. Stewart might be a bad example seeing as how he is used to having nazi-like control of his audience and has little anger-fits and hate-spews when challenged.

But yeah, I watch The Apprentice and he does this every week and actually has quite a ham-fisted yet strangely slick way of egging out the very best (or most truthful answers).

I'm pretty sure you're confusing Jon Stewart and Donald Trump. Regardless Trump is yanking Truthful answers out of B-D list celebrities Politicians can lie on a whole other level. You wanna see fits of rage, Trump not getting a word in edge wise, or being told he has no clue what he's talking about.
  • Jay Theyme The Eli... 2011/12/17 11:15:21 (edited)
    Jay Theyme
Well, Trump has been a massive businessman for a lot of years and does a helluva lot of work with a lot of politicians. He has some of the slickest, sneakiest and craftiest people on The Apprentice. He doesn't go into fits of rage, get agitated or any Jon Stewart type of hateful little freak-outs at all. Do you ever watch that show?

But I'm just curious why this angle, why all this righteous judging of Trump and is it because you actually believe Trump is stupid or would be a problem,
    or,
Is this really because you think it will somehow hurt conservatives?
  • The Eli... Jay Theyme 2011/12/18 21:14:34
    The Elitist Libtard SodaJerk
Trump doesn't get into fits of rage? Did you happen to see his reaction on Fox News when he heard that Karl Rove wasn't in favor of his debate? Or the same day where he had a fit with Chuck Todd? And as for Jon Stewart's Freak outs... Find me an example, He disagrees with Bill Orielly vehemently and they always seem to have fun together when they're interviewing the other. If You're referring to the first two acts of the Daily show, that's called a rant, and every pundit does that. Where as Orielly will cut the mic if he doesn't like the interview, Ed Shultz will walk away, and the other night I was watching Hannity debating Dick Morris and besides how relentless he was it looked like he was holding back the urge to spiral the football into Morris' face.
I don't really care if the Trump debate would've hurt conservatives. I'm just pointing out the fact that the whole Idea was ridiculous.

Trump gets big and blustering and loud. This isn't the same as having a vindictive little spaz-out. How do you not remember his Crossfire meltdown and his uh 'vacation' from the Daily Show thereafter or his 'Im better than you' flub-up on Fox?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

But at the end of the day - I still feel neither of us could even remember who hosted or moderated any of the GOP debates or what difference it would have made.

These are better examples of Spaz outs! As for your examples Stewart disagrees and doesn't back down when challenged. That's being Stubborn, not freaking out. The Crossfire thing was him saying that the show was a part of the problem. That was an opinion not a yelling fit.

    As for the debates:
they've been hosted by MSNBC, FOX, CNN, ABC, Bloomberg. Meghan Kelly, Chris Wallace, Bret Baier, Jim Kramer have all been Moderated. To name a few
