For the most part. But she is not as politically engaged as I am. Well, that is true at the federal level.... She is probably more engaged in community and school politics than I am.

I lean a little more left and the hubby leans a little more right.... I can't stand Romney, and the hubby can't stand Obama, but he's not in love with Romeny either. Makes it interesting.

I am center left and she is a moderate conservative, which is a dying breed and that frustrates her far more than my progressive views. Politics is not an issue in our home.

My wife passed away on May Day, International Workers Day. If anything, she was MORE Marxist than I was. When I was being tear-gassed at People's Park in Berkeley in 68 as a snot-nosed kid, she was helping bust 2 guys out of the Presidio Stockade. Strangely enough, I saw her on the streets of Berkeley that year on her mother's birthday, Feb 17, when I was hit by the Thunderbolt. I didn't actually MEETher until 1989. Here's a pic I took a few summers ago backstage of her with her old friends Huey Lewis and Johnny Colla of the News. The book she's howing them is her daughter's wedding pictures. The same daughter Huey dandled on his knee as a baby.

If I had a significant other I would think that we would have some basic common beliefs. Not to say we would agree on everything, a healthy arguement can be fun sometimes, especially the make up part:)

In some areas he does, others he doesn't. He is more fiscally conservative and socially liberal. In the last election we did not discuss politics at all. This time around, he knows what a POS obama is. He didn't vote last time around, but I'm sure he will this year!

We agree on a lot of things, 2nd Amendment rights, civil rights, healthcare. But, on a lot of other issues he's far more to the right than I. But I didn't marry the man for his politics, but in spite of them. ;)

She HATES politics and ALL politicians. Every once in a while an issue will come up and we'll discuss it. She usually seems to agree more often than not. Still the more politics-like and less interested she is.
