Does Your HD TV have Video and Audio Outputs

Captain Spaulding (Movie-Guy) 2011/10/17 06:24:50
I'm pissed! I bought a new tv cause my old tv broke and I would have thought that all new model tv's would have Analog Video outputs but this tv only has audio outputs, it is a great tv, it has 2 hdmi plug ins and video and audio input components. I did some internet research on more hdtv's to see if they have the outputs but they dont say if it does or if it doesnt have the outputs (which is very aggravating). I have a 46" Insignia tv for my theater room and I never really cared to look if it has the outputs cause on that Tv i dont need it but I bought another Insignia tv 24" and i realized that it also doesn't have the Video outputs and I need the outputs for that to capture stuff on tv and my gaming gameplay videos

It is very stupid why A new tv that has AV inputs but not the outputs, it just doesn't make any sense why they would do that.

Since I couldn't find any further details about if the tv's even have the AV outputs on all new tv's, I want to know is if any of you who also have flat screen HD TV's if your tv has the AV Outputs cause I'm starting to think that they dont have them at all on all new tv's, its either take this tv back if it doesn't have what i need and trade it in for one that does or just get a full refund if AV outputs don't exist on new tv's

game console tv dazzle computer set up

This is so aggravating that it makes me want to do this to the tv

I have the same problem and was told that the manufacturers do not put video and audio outputs on HDTV because that would allow you to copy programs you want to watch later with your DVD recorder assuming it is not a SONY.
I cancelled my DishTV which gave me the outputs. If you go with TiVO you have to pay for their service at $20.00 a month and for what?. I am using ROKU and love it. I use an antenna to get my local stations for FREE. But I can't record or pause. If there is a HDTV with video and audio outputs I'd buy it. This really stinks!!!! They have use where they want us.

speaking as a cable guy, straight up, %99 of all new tvs do NOT have AV outputs. what you will need to do for AV capture, is run the output from "device X" through your computer first and then route it to your TV. if your Video capture card and your onboard video card are badass enough, you can do this with both standard or HD video streams.
little different than running say, RCA cables in to your vcr to record whilie you watch via coax or rca on your tv.
I do that with my DVR player for the good movies.

I don't know. We have WII, and DVD, and VCR, and surround sound and Sat. TV DVR hooked up to it so it has whatever that requires.

Why would you need analog video outputs on your HD television? Why would you need ANY video outputs for that matter?

Yes, I have a 46in Samsung LED HDTV with 4 HDMI, and DVI, so I rarely use A/V cables. Using my PC and playing games on large screen is Beautifully magnificent!

Your welcome. Do you have an A/V receiver? Because they have video outputs (one for monitor, and one for DVR and VCR), HDMI inputs and out too. Maybe you can try it. Connect your game console to the video input on the receiver, then connect your video output card to video out (connect either to monitor output or video out for DVR/VCR (Don't know if that might work though). I don't wants your to buy something expensive to find out that they don't work. I gotta go buy me one in the future.

Ide take it back to the store and tell them. Alot of times if you let them know you are upgrading they'll take it back. As for the size my TV is a 19inch!! LOL. Like I said small is fine for me. Its the sound system thats important for me.

Good to know that not all HDTV's don't have out puts most of their speakers suck and I live on a main road, so every time a Motorcycle goes by I could have the volume at 63 and not hear a single thing.
