I doubt if that is the medias interpretation, but that is basically the way he is being treated. That is a good comparison. Anyone who defies the president, and especially one that knows enough about him like Keyes does, is going to get the Palin treatment.

Anyone who tells the brutal truth is a mark for this administration and its supporters. Dr. Keyes is a man of sterling character, having said this, he is a bit harsh in his delivery. But it's who he is and I respect him for being so willing to speak the truth.

Colin Powell was for most of his career apolitical. He worked for conservatives but didn't portray his own point of view. Part of being a military man. At best he would be a moderate not a conservative.

edit-just thought of something if Keyes suddenly supported Obama he would meet the criteria immediately.
