There is no middle ground here because, even if it is only minute everyone is going to lean one way or another.

you don't seem to understand grace if you think someone that is stealing is automatically destined for hell. Oh and whether they are starving are not stealing is still wrong. The starving need to put their trust in God in which he will provide for their needs.

No, I never said that someone is destined to hell for stealing. I responded to your post because you typed that stealing promotes covetousness. My point is a starving person stealing a loaf of bread is not covetousness, it is survival. However, if you would like to talk about the 7 deadly sins, we can start with hedge fund speculators, big oil, Wall Street, banksters, etc.

The desire to have which is not theirs is covetousness.

If memory serves, Jesus would have been in favor of individuals helping those in need, and did not involve the government in his teachngs, other than to say that we should give to God the things that were God's and to Caesar, the things that were Caesar's..

    Red Branch
Jesus said to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God.
Jesus did not demand health care out of Augustus.

"The safety of the people is the Supreme law".
The above axiom was a well known principle of Roman law during the time of Jesus and I do not recall him denouncing it.

The charities could be relied on to do more if the govt did not siphon so much money out of our checks.

Jesus provided himself as the answer, not a government program. Had we as a country taken Him as the answer, there wouldn't be a healthcare issue. That is the 800 pound gorilla in the room. Most politically motivated individuals don't seem to be very interested in following the ways of Christ until it comes to using His precepts for their benefits. It is sad that you would use the Savior of the World to justify a government program that the government decided to produce. BTW, the government didn't come up with ACA because they believe they were doing the will of god. It is classless and blasphemous to put Jesus on the face of it, as to suggest that Jesus is some kind of political advocate of the program.

Maybe you should reread the question, because I specifically said NOT political association, but consistent values.
