I'm liberal, so maybe I see more conservative opinions, because I'm drawn to argue with them. However, one of the posts on SodaHead directed me to the Political Compass which more accurately plots your political position based on answers to a confidential questionaire. It plots economic left/right on the horizontal axis and social Libertarian/Authoritarian on the vertical axis. I plot
-7.12 on the economic scale and -5.74 on the social scale which makes me a leftist/libertarian somewhat to left of Ghandi. So, it may not be all that accurate, but I am definitely to more left and more libertarian than either the President or the Vice President, so there you go.

It feels like there are more conservatives, which is strange because most people who use sites like this are younger, and younger people tend to be liberal. Hm...curious...

i get the feeling that serious liberals go prefer sites like the Huffington Post for political blogging or what not, I myself come here specifically for the huge pool crazy conservatives who have found a home here on sodahead and have provided me with hours of entertainment

I am a Conservative and have been on SH for over a year and one half. The number of liberals increased immediately prior to the start of the campaign in earnest and there are a good majority remaining today.
Whether or not there are more liberals or Conservatives, I really don't know (I tend to think more liberals) BUT I will say that:
1) The number of liberals posters is diminishing
2) The number of informed Conservatives has always outnumbered the informed liberals.
3) The liberals who know what they are speaking about do not swear and call other SH'ers name and they debate in a respectful manner. I know several and I treasure them as friends.
4) liberals block more than Conservatives - I am blocked by SH'ers I have never had contact with or heard of.

Where did you get that bogus number? 44% disapprove of Obama and 32% strongly disapprove. Obama has the widest gap between "strongly disapprove" vs "strongly approve" in US history. He is the most divisive president in history.
